People acting surprised that RV hasn't performed at Tokyo Dome is hilarious. 

 

Considering SM: 

 

- Never created an official fanclub in Japan (but literally every other SM group has one)

- Never booked them even 1 TV performance or appearance ever

- Botched their debut MV with a Japan/WW2 scandal which angered J-netz

- Botched their 1st Japan full album with a sudden delay and rescheduled it at short notice

- Ignored Japan fans requests for more promotion/doesn't do any album signing events

- Ignored Japan fans requests for more cities on R to V tour

 

The fact that Red Velvet can sell out arenas in Japan shows the demand was there but SM and Avex failed. It seems SM never had much interest in expanding RV internationally even with the obvious demand. It's the same story in Americas/Europe. SM is always the girls' worst enemy

Speaking of Tokyo Dome, SKZ has just sold out 6 dome dates in minutes 

They are expecting 270K+ attendees for those 6 shows alone. I don't understand why JYPE didn't book Nissan Stadium for them, but at least they will most likely perform there during Encore dates.

Born Stink could be certified quadruple diamond and it'd still be full of stale Teddy tracks from 2016. Sales don't change that.

 

What is crazy to me is that people actually believe this is an album. Half of the „album" is leftovers (rose solo song, a leftover from the first album and some western demos). 

The title tracks are great as usual but Born Pink was just a quick cash grab.

It reminds me of 2NE1 and how YG included a hate symbol in their debut Japanese music video and absolutely ruined their careers in Japan before they started. 
 

I don't understand why these companies won't just let their less active groups tour and make money. Even if RV isn't selling out stadiums, they could easily bring in $20M+ just playing arenas for 30 dates.

I miss when selling out the Tokyo Dome was a huge deal, not so much now given k-pop has basically become the dominant genre in Japan. I guess we've moved onto bigger / western goalposts.
