And NewJeans already have 12, excluding Zero and Gods + remixes

I think NJ songs being short don't help but yeah if they add Gods and Zero they can sing for 35 minutes+ 5 minutes of talking + some interlude break like Get up.

They performed in broad day light which had the fans asking why they were and TXT was set at a Headlining hours.

But they can do that in Coachella too. Sabrina performed at 6pm on the main stage.

I think g idle would've been the best group to do Coachella, they would fit perfectly

I think Gidle and Itzy are the best performers of this generation for now, which makes sense, they have been around the longest.

Kpop acts perform at Coachella for "the look".

An afternoon or early evening set doesn't look that good. They'd be in the middle of the pack and that goes against their status as their gen's leading GG.

I'm not convinced NJ are going to another US festival anytime soon, if they have a world tour. They already proved themselves at Lollapalooza, and I'd think they would rather drive all the traffic to their own concerts, to maximize sold out venues.

Everyone still fuming over LE SSERAFIM's success? :ryan3:

Talking about NJ's world tour, I'm curious to know if MHJ will travel with them. She has always been there for all their overseas group schedules in the US and in Japan, so far, but she is still a CEO who has stuff to do, and a world tour lasts months.

Struggling or not, Le Sserafim’s mics were ON. Can’t say the same about any of their peers really.

They can still attend festivals and go on a tour in the same year. Outside of getting paid, the whole point of performing at festivals is to also get your music out there for locals.

SKZ are about to headline 3 different festivals around the world, despite their tour starting this year as well for example

They are getting dragged across the board on K-Twitter for their vocals too. It has nothing to do with their success, most people enjoy their music, at this point they either step up vocally or they'll be known as the cute gg who release bops but can't perform them live.

I can add aespa, NMIXX and many others.

i have barely seen anything about coachella (except for here) kinda crazy how immense coachella used to be, every influencer making a big deal about it, beyonce was the last time everyone, even gp, was tuning in

although, more genres are being incorporated in the line up,

so maybe it will become more a music focused festival instead of a fashion influencer event over time?

Maybe. SKZ are also veterans with a massive fanbase. They don't have difficulties selling out venues. NJ are not even 2 yo, with a much smaller fanbase. There is no guarantee they can sell out medium to big venues like SKZ do. Their music is also already out there, the effect of promoting their music to a big crowd isn't as effective. The stakes are different.

Well then if it's all about « the look » then yeah they can't perform there till their maknae is 17, like  @Xalric explained.

But Coachella can be a huge promotion. If they do good, people will definitely want to see them more, and it will also elevate their status even more.

The ones tuning in to an afternoon Coachella livestream are the same ones who would have purchased tickets anyway.

Coachella isn't this huge, magical marketing tool people think it is.

Compared to previous years, the hype around the festival has cooled down tremendously. Their performance would have to go super viral (for the right reasons) to make a difference.

Idk about the others but it's true regarding their label mates.  NJ backtrack was loud during their Lollapalooza set last year.

Last year was pretty big imo.

That's why I said if they do good. Like Doja Cat set in 2022, really cemented her as one of the best performer of her generation. Same for Rosalia set last year. It was all over Twitter.

I couldn't find anything about it. Did Coachella increase BP's streams/listeners on Spotify? I feel like the 2019 Coachella was much more effective in terms of promoting them.

I was ready to drag Sakura but she did well for her standard.

The visual though :clap3: Stick with that long blonde hair. She looks super gorgeous.

I don't disagree, but their image or status will also take a hit if they don't sell out their own concerts, while they have already done some promotion in the US, so Coachella is a bit redundant.
If they headline a festival, I'd be more inclined to think they would go to Lollapalooza again, over Coachella. It's later in the year and they already have connections.
