It seems unlikely she's releasing anything anytime soon after this week's meltdown tbh.

If she does release a project soon, I don't think she should attach WAP or Up personally. She's shown she knows how to make a cohesive rap project that's commercially and critically successful, so start with a new set of songs around one theme like she did with IOP. Not all female rappers know how to do this!

But first, she should figure out her issues: with social media, her fanbase, and her baby daddy. It sounds like she's really not in a good place so hope she can figure that out, and then work on the music

it is incredibly desperate tho. she should technically be at CB3 already 💀

Not desperate. Those songs were intended for CB2 upon release so that's where they belong, whenever the album comes out. And if you were an artist and scored two back-to-back blockbuster hits, even 3 years ago, you'd add them too :skull:

she’d be stupid for not adding them, like the album would already have 2 billion streams almost be certified 2x platinum. but i hope that she only adds them if the tracklist is long, i don’t want it to feel like they took a slot of another song

They could just be on the deluxe version; would still count towards the streams

SZA adding Good Days on SOS was already kinda side-eye worthy and that had a 2 year gap… but FOUR years? Nah thats just ridiculous.

Why is it side-eye worthy? If artists have the hits but the album is delayed various times for whatever reason, they should still be a part of the finished product whenever it finally comes, within reason... unless the music is severely outdated. WAP and Up still sound pretty fresh to me :michael:

this talks about releasing old singles, meaning they were already released smarty. big difference came out in dec 2023 along with the album.

Why does that matter?? The song Big Difference is still over 3 years old and yet it's on her album.

if she adds wap and up she’d debut at #2 why tf shouldn’t she

Oh NOW I see why adding WAP and Up would cause a stir

The way she would have EASILY debuted with 150k+ after WAP/Up.

She might still be able to do 100k but the interest from the GP has been steadily decreasing + female rap has been kind of flopping….Doja and Megan can’t debut with 100k either, despite one of them having a massive hit on their album.

I predict it will do good or very bad

This… WAP and Up were intended for CB2, desperate would be tacking songs from completely different projects onto your album to inflate #s (ie Trolls)

She waited too long to release that no one really cares.

Have you surveyed her entire demographic to reach that conclusion?

It's not like she has the insane level of artistry or talent that would that would warrant the GP to flock to her new music.

The charts would look DRASTICALLY different right now if the GP cared about talent :rip: (Not that I agree that Cardi is untalented.)

All it would take is one song... one song to go viral and then before you know it, bam, a sixth #1. Not jinxing it and saying that will necessarily happen next year, but who knows? Nobody in December 2022 would've guessed that Miley Cyrus - at that point basically a non-factor in music since 2013 - would end up with the biggest smash of 2023.

Her fanbase has reduced drastically since 2018 and with the remaining few fans she has

Even if that were true, if the GP collectively gets behind a song then a sizeable fanbase isn't essential for its success.

she is telling them to off themselves so I don't really understand who is going to be that KEEN to support her future projects :deadbanana:

Personally IDGAF and couldn't be any less offended - I know she was referring to those who were crossing the line by criticizing her marriage.

Quite frankly, no one is checking for Cardi B in 2023

Not quite true. Cardi was the subject of several viral posts and moments on social media, Bongos went Top 15 - as did Put It On The Floor Again with Latto - and Tomorrow 2 is the most popular female rap song of 2023 on Apple Music US despite being released in September 2022. She also broke the record for most views amassed during a virtual concert on TikTok, or something adjacent to that.

let alone in 2024!

What would you say if Cardi B happened to re-peak in 2024, despite being certain of the contrary?

I'm pretty sure it would be her last album. That would be a big day for the Barbz.

Oh for sure :rip: they've been trying to get rid of her since 2017

Oh wow, when you put it that way... :rip:

I didn't realize she only has one album. She should invest more in music tbh.
