Is it okay to earn a billion dollars from being a musician and doing a world tour?

I’ve been reading tons of post from Swifties congratulating Taylor from becoming a billionaire and saying that she earn it by her “hard work” and I started thinking than most people (artist and non-artist) have to work waaaaay harder than her and they wont see a billion dollar in their bank account even if they have to work for centuries.

Do you think its okay for an artist like her to have that much money or that her work is more important than others to earn that sum of money in such a short period of time?

Discuss.

As long as it's legal yes, I don't see who's anyone to put a ceiling on how much she's allowed to profit. It's not her fault a lot of people are willing to pay a lot of money to see her live.

What profession we choose ultimately decides where we go and what we earn

Being Musician is risky , we see the one who made it but there are millions who didn't and their net worth is less than ours or basically nothing

In my profession I won't reach 1bn unless I start my own company or something

It is what it is. We can't do nothing

the way she could easily make 3 billion dollars from that tour alone if she added more dates for one more year and it still would be sold out, she's doing charity for doing this tour only for 2 years :gaycat5:

No. There is never a reason someone should have a billion dollars, NOBODY needs that much money. Not Taylor, not Rihanna, nobody. Not when income equality is at an all time low

Yes, especially with her being self-made. And that's not to mention the sacrifices she's made to get where she is.

How it 'creates' money for many other people if the entertainer keeps that $1B :lakitu:?

Because she generates way more than 1B. Her tour alone will generate at least 5 Billion from tour tickets, merch sales, hotel bookings, local restaurants, etc.

She didn't exploit any resources or people to get where she's at. In fact, she pays her workers millions in bonuses. Being an artist and getting paid for your honest work is probably the most acceptable and fair way to gain wealth.

I could have 0.1% of that money and I would probably be set for the rest of my life. :gaycat6:
