MadOnHer Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Like A Prayer alone wins this for Madonna. 4

She-Rah Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Madonna, sweetie I’m am SO sorry you are being compared to the MOST basic pop star ever. 4

charot Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 (edited) Shake it Off - Love Story - Blank Space - Cruel Summer - AntiHero - Cardigan - All Too Well Are these even classics especially the last 4? Edited December 12, 2023 by charot

HASHTAGPOW Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Taylor’s goth-punk song Gorgeous wins this one by default

It’s more of a classic than Cardigan and Cruel Summer. 1
naval23 Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 When Taylor has a holy trinity as iconic and global as "Hung Up", "Like a Prayer" and "La Isla Bonita" call me 2
Mocha Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 madonna's discography is untouchable tbh. and taylor's best songs tend to be the ones that do not get much traction from the GP .
spree Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 this thread alone is why Taylor will NEVER be bigger than Madonna. It's almost painful to compare those songs. Taylor's music is so basic. 1 3
Oktober Knight Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 Madonna BY FAR. This comparison is an embarrassment 3 2
Goaty Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 Classics stand the test of time. Taylor's career is too young to be labeling anything after Fearless a classic. Her deep cuts are her best anyway, so she'll probably flounder against most artists in these kinds of comparisons.
BrandNewBrandon Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 On what planet are Cardigan and All Too Well classics? Maybe ATW for her fans and that's also okay but the GP doesn't consider them classics. 1

Taylor lacks #1 hits in most countries and the GP in most countries probably only know Blank Space and Shake It Off as not even Cruel Summer was that big outside of the US. Whoever thinks she's on par with Madonna should do some research that doesn't compile of mass-buying, streaming playlists and inflated ticket prices in a booming concert era. 2 1

Buying three variants of the same album and then listening to it on the internet is like 4 units already and that's just one person Meanwhile, Madonna had one version and no tracking of how many times a fan listened to it at home and the singles from the album and how many times they were bought and listened to at home don't count towards her album sales either and yet they claim one is remotely comparable to the other Edited December 13, 2023 by BrandNewBrandon 3

DOUBLE Taylor's entire career existence. Would Madonna be at the same CSPS as she is now? Absolutely not. She would be probably 5x the amount she currently has. Maybe 10x.
