But do you really think an album that has about 5 tracks like that is better produced than how sampling was done in Roman Reloaded and Queen? Name a RAP song better than Red Ruby on Roman Reloaded or Queen Edited December 11, 2023 by Anvarie

bestfiction Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Deserves less than 5.0 tbh. Some of the songs, especially the sampled ones are outright embarrassing. She really doesn't have the drive and creativity anymore 9
modeblock Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Halsey's famous quote comes to mind, altho tbh 6.5 is not that bad - y'all doing too much on both sides lol
Archetype Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 45 minutes ago, Anvarie said: I’m not taking a publication that rated Roman Reloaded or Queen higher seriously Chun-Li accounts for 80% of Queen’s score and RR was a very iconic and defining moment for Nicki, even P4K realized that while reviewing. Great that she’s grown as a writer, but it’s more of a record for the fans than it is for anyone else. The album is way too long and it lacks a central theme that ties any of it together, something that the original PF had.

CatchIt Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 (edited) Lmao all reviews are subjective so why do y’all hold Pitchfork to such a high pedestal. NME and Guardian both gave her a 60/100 for Queen and 80/100 for PF2. Clearly, different people have different tastes and the album is polarising. use your own brains (and ears) to make a judgment ppl Edited December 11, 2023 by CatchIt

Pendulum Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 The way when P4K underrates an album that is released by an unproblematic aritst, or someone who doesn't have the background Nicki has, everyone is "boooo who cares about Pitchfork" *post that infamous Halsey P4K tweet*. But I guess Pitchfork suddenly matters because they're dragging Nicki and what not. 3 2
Kern Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Scarlet got like 5 on Pitchfork and this album is better so it got higher score

It really doesn't mean much that their fave is pushing her own pen when the results are always like....this.
liquiddiamonds Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Journalists shouldn’t been exposed for respectfully giving their paid-for opinion It’s just a review… chill
Jimmy. Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 ATRL back to respecting Pitchfork reviews I see 1 1

They can claim to be impartial and unbiased but they’re insidious, much like the Swifties.

Y'all always do this and it's so low. It’s only low because you, yourself, are judging her appearance, clearly. It was to point out that she’s evidently not the target audience of a Nicki Minaj album. This is this one lady’s opinion & nothing more. It doesn’t hold any significant weight, I’d argue, less weight in fact, than the opinion of someone like Zach Campbell who another member here just used as a racially charged shade attempt. Considering the demographic she falls under is relevant to highlight, whether you like it or not, it shatters the false sense that these “reviewers” are some type of cultural curators or have any credibility over particular genres - when they’re nothing but consumers & at times, as in this instance, cultural detractors. A job as an “editor” doesn’t give you a free pass from appropriate criticism. That’s not even mentioning the fact that these publications run on clicks… their job is to instigate.
