Cher: Fad of the Early 70s?

She started the decade by racking up three #1 hits, but she’s flopped consistently since then. It’s 1979. Her latest single “Take Me Home” marks her first top 10 entry in 5 years, but it’s stalled at a mere #8. She struggled ever to succeed in the first place, and now she’s struggled to sustain her success. Is this the end for Cher? Is she doomed to be remembered as a fad of the early 70s?

Base: Dolly Parton has released 17 studio albums in the 1970s. When will she give it a rest?
