Axolotl Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 It was and anyone who says it wasn't is pretty biased. She's achieved more than her peers at this stage of her career.
PrettyHurts Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 It’s a success simply looking at the stats but when you consider her years in the industry + the way she’s managed her previous releases it’s extremely impressive. She’s simply mother
littlebodybigheart Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 big success? not really. it was mid 1
Shinning Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 It was. Don't let the ATRL propaganda fool you. For an era by a 42 year old 25 years into her career with NO PROMO? It did amazing.
swissman Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 It was a big success, it just wasn't a BIG success. But as the Hive and many of us know, getting the era to "ALL CAPS" BIG success was always going to be dependant on the amount of promo from Beyoncé. Returning to a solo era after six years, three of which saw her last album omitted from Spotify, and at an age that most Tik-Tokers and Gen Z streamers aren't in tune with, she was always going to have to work a bit in order for it to reach BIG heights commercially. So the fact that she didn't do anything but tour (essentially...because there's a Vogue cover and some other scatterings of news-worthy moments but rarely do they align and directly sell the music) yet still got a #1 album and a #1 hit and then an even bigger hit that followed even before the massive tour was announced plus a succesful and acclaimed film, PLUS the cultural ubiquity that an era really has not had in some years shows it was indeed a success. Not one video. Not one performance. And this is from an artist well known for videos and performances and for the power they have. My theory, as evident by some of her past moves starting in 2013, was to allow her album to have a cult status rather than a commercial one. And as one of the most notable, famous and successful popstars of all time, this really cannot be achieved unless you don't play into the game of getting your music EVERYWHERE and pushing it to people. Instead, she kind of just released it and let it do as it did, making people enjoy the music because they enjoy it, not because a fancy video, extraordinary performance or because she was on every talk show doing interviews and really trying to sell it. And I think she achieved that very well. So yes, it was a big success. 3
istan4badgalriri Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 For how long she’s been in the game and her age it definitely was a big success
Badgalbriel Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Absolutely. It's a win no matter how you see it. 1
ScorpiosGroove Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 #1 album #1 single #1 tour #1 movie i mean, lemme ask the audience 2
Khal Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 It'd be foolish to deem an era with a #1 song and album, multiple >100m album tracks and a huge tour as anything other than a big success. 1
Fitzswiftie Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 20 hours ago, Hurem said: Yes, it was big. It may not have huge stats on Spotify or whatnot, but the longevity that this era had made it a success. And obviously the tour was a HUGE success. Given this is her first proper era in the streaming era where the current album is actually available outside of Tidal, its streaming/spotify stats are actually really good all thing considered. • 3.1m daily after 18 months • 15/16 tracks at 100k daily. • 6 album cuts at 150k+ daily.
UnusualBoy Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Of course it was, we're talking about black woman who debuted in the late 90s, getting streams, hits, acclaim and a huge tour. She's killing it!
SuperCiC1 Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Its cultural impact is incalculable, but the numbers say YES anyway!
dawnettakins Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Yes, only pressed and haters would deem otherwise. She definitely won.
Aethereal Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Over 4 million album units is a a success so yes.
Geraldine Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 well, just compare Beyonce's state of career to her peers jlo, shania and mariah. i'd say yes 2
Pheromosa Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Definitely. Many artists would love to have an era as successful as Renaissance
Xtripped Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 (edited) Yes, big era I mean, no other pop girl from the 90s/early 00s is doing like her. She really became an untochable legend with this album. Edited December 4, 2023 by Xtripped 1
LastGreatBloodline Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 yes obviously it could have been even bigger if AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM (REMIX) had been pushed as a single 1
Iaintsorry Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 After all??? it’s always been a huge success and you have to be delulu to deny that 1

Beyonce won and will win, shes a legend now. She's done what pop girls work their entire careers for, a namesake that can tour the globe on its own merit. Madonna - Taylor - Pink - Adele - Celine - are the only others in that group right now. Edited December 4, 2023 by satellites.™ 1 1
GreatestLoveofAll Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 i didnt need this whole recap to believe this was a fact, but its always great to see others acknowledge facts! 1
