swissman Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 It's such an addictive song... so fun. The way she says "NIP-PLE RANGS" is so catchy too. I love when she gets to her southern rap roots. 1

That was her attempting to dive into the underground sounds of house and voguing music.... which wasnt to my taste.
Blumoon Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 The beginning HITS. Thats that Texasbama HBCU comin through. Felt like Pastor Troy was on the beat. The second half grew on me but Id love a release w just the first part and an added verse.
Lovett Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 I think this is cute, but that's about it for me. Lower half of her discography.
Lose My Breath Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 I love this, and am still playing nonstop
swissman Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 (edited) tbh this is better than a good handful of RENAISSANCE song if only for the fact that it feels like such a complete experience. In my album ranking it probably is somewhere in the upper middle. Edited December 5, 2023 by swissman 2
Kristie Kuwa Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Its a really good song to listen to at the gym

Stellar1103 Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 I can't wait for HBCU bands to play this song. I can see the majorettes now.... 2 3

One gives the work its own moment, the other doesn't even allow the audience to take a second to digest the first piece of content, before it already begins trying to sell you another. By doing that, Beyoncé would allow the takeaway and much of the focus to be on what's next, and less about what we've concluded. In this way, it's something closer to letting it stand as art, confident and definitive, and not needing to tie it to another commercial endeavour literally immediately after it's done, more for the benefit of the next project than the current. I don't doubt that the tactic would work well, but I just don't think it's Beyoncé's style. Edited December 6, 2023 by swissman
swissman Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 (edited) after waiting for so long for visuals, I think releasing a studio video now without the full thing would be weird but we deserve a tour video of this song... like just an on-beat montage of tour moments, and there are SO MANY looks that weren't in the film. we won't get it but it's a dream. I also think there's a genuine chance she just didnt like the visuals lol maybe something didnt resonate with them....i dont know. We do know they were filmed lol

I watched a review yesterday that brought up possible soundtracking opportunities for HBCU majorettes, WNBA games (both gametime and practice), and the voguing community (second half). I think this record may have legs. 1

It has been on the "Taking Off" and "Spincrease" areas of Urban Radio on Mediabase for the last week. Fingers crossed it gets added to Urban/Rhythmic in early January when little new music is out, and formats are tired of playing last year's music. The dark horse is pop radio. 1
