The way she always finds time to address her haters over a beat.

If you "don't give a **** about my house, then get the **** out my house."

This is for the people who think this song is "noise."

That's an opinion, calling it NOISE is another thing altogether.

For someone who likes the soul and RnB Beyoncé this is noise and I can't believe there's actually Hives that are calling it a "masterpiece".

it's not even experimental, it's not far from her last efforts :skull:

She's having fun, for sure, but lyrically and musically this is not an upgrade in her music, it's just extra.

So we have to unstan her because we don't like that she sings songs like this? Ok.

And then some of her stupid fans tried to come for the queen Stephanie Mills for saying that Beyonce is more hip-hop than glamour and pop like Diana.

This record alone proves it :dies:

First listen was not it ngl. But that SECOND listen?

Yeah I’m really enjoying it honestly, although I don’t see myself spamming this song constantly it is good. But it’s clearly not a song for the masses

Who said anything about unstanning her?

The message is simple. You don't like when she sings songs like this, then just "get the **** up out her house" and let the people who get it, enjoy the party.  Basically, focus on loving yourself and that which brings you joy, instead of a random song that you don't like.

girl it was just a yawn gif because we've heard it every time she drops new music in the last 10 years. anyone with a good pair of ears knows she was SINGING on Renaissance.

but what you brought up yourself isn't wrong either :chick1:

Does Björk not make experimental music because it's what she's always done? Does recently doing something suddenly make this standard pop fare?

I'm not saying this is Björk-level of experimental, but to flatly deny that this is "not even experimental" when not one of Beyoncés peers are doing anything close to clearly disregarding established pop-structure is unfair.

This record alone proves it :dies:

What her statement disregarded was that in the 2000s and even 20 years later, hip-hop IS pop.

It would be like someone saying "Diana is more disco [a Black genre that people didn't take seriously] than glamour and pop like Lena Horne"

It's all about perspective. Pop evolves, and that's why separating Beyoncé from glamour and pop simply because she's leaned hip-hop is weird, and actually what this record proves is Beyoncé's ability to do almost any genre, even within the same song, going from southern rap stylings to club-fare and then into a gospel choir.

If Beyoncé had released Halo 2.0, or Sweet Dreams 2.0 or Irreplaceable 17.0 or Beautiful Liar 2.0 or If I Were A Boy 2.0 or Naughty Girl 2.0 or Party 2.0 or Love on Top 2.0 or Pretty Hurts 2.0 or CUFF IT 2.0 or Perfect Duet 2.0 or whatever... would you suddenly say that "this record alone proves Beyoncé makes glamour and pop"?

If you got "unstan" out of "get up out my house" then I guess that's what you should do, but that lyric clearly means to stay out of her business, to not be under her hospitality and still be salty. It speaks to the type of people who pretend to be her fan just so they can have a reason to outwardly criticize her, just to make it seem like their criticism is legit and sanctimonious.

Pop is Pop. Hip-hop is hip-hop.

Your Diana Ross and Lena Horne analogy is almost laughable, considering that Diana did indeed dip into jazz music with two jazz albums during her peak. Not even just that, but the fact she retained the same class, elegance, and glamour through film (Mahogany, Lady Sings the Blues, etc.) and through music - no matter the genre. So, no, your analogy doesn’t quite make sense.

Beyonce is not in the same nor will ever be in the same lane as Diana. She has tried to rebrand herself as someone with the same elegance, glamour, and class as Diana or Diahann in the past few years (I would say after the deal with Tiffany), but 2010s Beyonce was definitely not glamour or pop. Not in the music and not in the appearance. Time goes on and things do evolve, but glamour is timeless.

That conversation was about R&B, just because Beyonce blends R&B and Hip Hop sometimes doesn't undo the fact most of her songs are R&B. Miss Stephanie is just from a different era, she probably wouldn't consider Summer Walker or SZA  as r&b either

Not my personal cup of tea but that’s okay!

Didn't make much of an impression on me at first listen like the Renaissance songs did, maybe it will grow on me
