The audience was ALWAYS focused on the continued story arc of Sid, Gale and Dewey. Of course there will be scream after Melissa and Jenna but the audience wants a finished storyline. People were annoyed that Neve didn't came back but were ready for the new generation because Sids story was kind of finished. The Scream fans won't accept entirely new characters out of nowhere after Scream 6. There's no killer motive without the Carpenter sisters at this point. 

 

Yes there's always a way to get to a finished script but they would have to pull some serious trash out of their asses to explain the absence of the 2 main characters....

But nobody is saying that Scream was invented by Jenna and Melissa? Of course, Ghostface matters and it's the "face" of the franchise, but the other main characters are just as important. You are the delusional one if you think otherwise, and you sound like you've never seen a Scream movie in your life. They have a cult fanbase that actually cares a lot about the other characters. So....good luck getting Scream 7 to smash or have the same reception as the previous ones after they just lost two of the main and most loved characters because...*checks note* they are against genocide.

The new series was all about Sam and her connection to the og villain Billy, always on the edge of herself becoming the villain. Reusing any characters from the past 2 movies without the sisters is useless.

 

They'll need a total new reboot or to pay tens of millions to Neve and get her story back.

I don't see what else they could come up with when it comes to Sidney, her storyline is pretty much completely done. Bringing her back would only be out of desperation and we'll probably get a very mediocre movie as a result. Not that it changes anything anyway, i won't watch it as long as those f*ckers have the license of the franchise.

good. hope the film gets cancelled. unpopular opinion but Scream 6 was a DUD that had nothing to say about horror movies. i think the franchise needs a break, they can return back to it in a few years with fresh ideas
