GoodGuyGoneGhetto Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 (edited) Grande debuted in March 2013 with her debut single “The Way”. (We don’t count “PYHU”). Lipa debuted in December 2015 with her debut single “New Love”. In 2023… Who is the bigger hitmaker? Provide receipts! Edited November 20, 2023 by GoodGuyGoneGhetto
zoldyck Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 (edited) I didn't knew Dua debut only two years after Ariana, anyway it feels like Ariana had a like 5 years head start. Son in that sense Ariana, but also Dua at the end of FN seems bigger hitmaker than Ariana at the end of my everything. Dua definitely had the biggest hit out of two though Edited November 20, 2023 by zoldyck
Selegend Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Ariana is bigger cuz she needs less investment than Dua. Levitating by Dua is the bigger song.
thirdward Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Ariana has more hits but dua has bigger hits 1
airplane Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 dua has more hits and dua has bigger hits 1 1
Yuanyu Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Ariana doesn't need a TTH residency to have hits 2 1 1
ariananext Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 (edited) Ariana has more hits (obviously she has more albums, although Dua has for each album double/triple the singles of an Ariana album) but Dua's hits are bigger so far, Ariana doesn't have a song as big as Levitating for example, although Ariana's hits are much more recognizable, it's too soon to say whose songs will be more remembered in the long run. Ariana has Santa Tell Me that grows bigger every year and it could outdo a lot of pop girls hits in the future. It is also true that if Ariana had Dua's drive, roll-outs and investment she would have bigger hits, anything Ariana releases is at the very least a moderate hit - while Dua needs to work a lot for the same result, she deserves her flowers though because she's hardworking and gets what she deserves, while Ariana is lazy. Bears01 Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Ariana. Dua. Don’t Start Now, Levitating, One Kiss and Cold Heart are all bigger than every Ariana song with the possible exception of 7 Rings 1
jjmed59 Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 (edited) ariana has 2-3 hits each era but levitating is the biggest female hot 100 song so the polls are correct rn Edited November 20, 2023 by jjmed59
bad guy Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Ariana has more hits on paper but weirdly enough she has no real signature hit, or even a cross-generational hit. They just kinda come and go. Dua has less hits but One Kiss and Levitating show more staying power than any Ariana hit. 1
halcyonday Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Ariana by far. Her name alone. She helped fads&flops like Gaga and Social House get hits. Artists like The Weeknd and Doja got even bigger thanks to collabs with her. 1 1
k4rmabutterfly Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Ariana for now, but Dua is going to surpass her I think, her main focus is to make hits.
Le Grande Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Ariana technically, but she has the advantage of being from the US which makes it way easier for her so I'll go with Dua since her hits are bigger.

I still hear 7 Rings quite a lot
LittleStarmen Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Ariana for sure for both and its the bigger celebrity aswell.
ThousandMiles Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Ariana of course Dua’s failed comeback with Houdini is almost career ending, she will never recover from the embarrassment i fear. 4
DeadInside Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Considering Houdini is flopping I'd have to say Ari. Though Future Nostalgia is bigger than any Ari album, Ari is much more consistent. Even her latest "underperformance" (positions) got her a #1 single and multiple billion streamed songs. 1
Gayoncé Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Ariana by far. See all her #1 debuts with zero promotion. And she actually has musical talent. The one Peep pony on the other hand has nothing without and outside of Spotify playlisting. 1 1
magazine Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 one of the stupidest questions I've seen in a while
Blue Monday Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 (edited) Love to Dua but let’s see where she’s at 10 years on; her hits are huge it’s undeniable, but she has not really achieved the consistency Ariana has. People are being a little too quick to call Houdini an underperformance, but let’s say it’s her “Dangerous Woman” for now; does she have a Side to Side or even an Into You in this album cycle (I think she does but obvi we’ll have to wait and see)?
