Ariana has a huge number of followers and she's also a big celebrity, she doesn't need a lot of promo to have hits

Ariana. Her success is very organic. Even globally Dua’s biggest hits are features (One Kiss and Cold Hearts) from other artists/albums. Levitating, Don’t Start Now and New Rules couldn’t even reach the top 10 in most markets outside the Anglosphere despite atrl calling her “the most global” pop girl at the moment. Ariana also has big success in Asia which Dua lacks. She has Latin America but her latest effort has been doing terribly there too.

Ariana's biggest problem is that she moved on from her last 3 eras so quickly that she never reached her true potential. Her latest hits felt so big for 4-5 months, but then fell into oblivion.  

btw people here act like Ariana hasn't promoted her first 3 albums everywhere. It seems like people forgot about Ariana's career before Sweetener.  Nothing against Ari but it's ridiculous.

You keep posting this wrong argument every time. Sales/streams make a song a hit, not a one week peak. That's why the 3 songs you named have multi-platinum and diamond certifications around the world

New Rules reached #32 and Levitating #24 in France and both have a diamond cert, while DSN reached #12 and is only platinum.

i stanned ariana so post 2018 i could see up close and personal the second scooter started pulling strings to make the songs look like they were doing better than they actually were. i stanned dua lipa but lost interest after her debut album was postponed for the 8th time and as of right now i dont care about her at all but i would be deluded to say that she doesn't have more and bigger hits than ariana grande

Asking who has more hits makes no sense since Dua has 2 albums and Ariana has 6

Ariana goes on a music hiatus after achieving consistent hits since 2013 and no surprise ATRL back at it with their convenient memory loss from the past 10 years.  

 

Dua may have hits like Levitating and Don't Start Now that are objectively "bigger" but she's not a bigger hitmaker than Ariana Grande in any way shape or form.  Dua needs intense promotional tactics from the industry machine to get her songs to stick.  Ariana just needs her star power to get the public to pay attention.  Dua has 5 top 10 hits in the US.  Ariana has 20 top 10 hits lol.  Even in the UK Ariana has more #1s, top 10s, and top 40 hits despite the UK being Dua's home country and her strongest market.  There is no objective metric were Dua outperforms Ariana overall or in quantity of hits...not a fair comparison for Dua.  I swear I can't wait for Ariana to come back to music because these threads discrediting her are not going to age well in predictable ATRL fashion.
