So looks like it hasn’t been reported in this particular thread, yet, but in the other thread about this, the latest update from about a day ago is that there’s an open police investigation into T4F over this incident. Do with that information what you will, draw your own conclusions.

yeah, like I've been saying in this thread, i believe Taylor will come down hard on T4F as soon as the Brazilian shows are over. She's actually gonna end that evil corrupt company for good and at least try to avenge Ana's death. Anything she does right now could be used by T4F to find a legal loophole and she's being very careful.

people complaining about "media circus"
If there's one thing worth of a little bit of media circus is the DEATH of a fan and signs that an artist is not what we expect from them, and not only that, but an artist/team who have been doing everything to cover the case outside of Brazil, as it never happened. I've seen a lot more scandal for a lot less than this when it comes to other artists. Janet, Britney, Ashlee Simpson, and I could go on and on w/ cases that didn't involve death, and the media simply distroyed the artist.

I don't want Taylor to be distroyed, I don't even want to "stop being a fan of her music". But her omission on all this is everything I didn't expect of her, and YES we should be talking about it. It's even healty to talk about it and very problematic not to.

Grow tf up

you’ll get downvoted cuz that’s how them slithery lil snakes move but nothing you said in this post was incorrect .. whatsoever !

I wonder about her reputation long term in Brazil. When Tiziano Ferro made an off-color remark about Mexican women on Mexican TV, his career went down the drain there. To this day, that earth is still salted.

Now amplify that to silence over a fan's death and a much bigger market, and she could have a recipe for disaster.

No one is blaming her besides twitter people

clearly t4f did a horrible job organizing a concert like this

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the potential fallout, especially given the major divide happening among fans even on this forum. When the bombing happened at Ariana's concert, she made a statement the next day. Travis Scott has not fully survived the fallout from Astroworld. Limp Bizkit ruined their career trajectory with Woodstock '99, and the Rolling Stones were luck to have weathered the Altamont controversy by the skin of their teeth.

Quote

The music magazine Rolling Stone, in a 14-page 11-author article on the event entitled "The Rolling Stones Disaster at Altamont: Let It Bleed" published in their January 21, 1970, issue, stated that "Altamont was the product of diabolical egotism, hype, ineptitude, money manipulation, and, at base, a fundamental lack of concern for humanity".[9] The article covered the many issues with the event's organization and was very critical of the organizers and the Rolling Stones; one writer stated: "what an enormous thrill it would have been for an Angel to kick Mick Jagger's teeth down his throat."[9] Another follow-up piece in Rolling Stone called the Altamont event "rock and roll's all-time worst day".[12] In Esquire magazine, Ralph J. Gleason observed, "The day The Rolling Stones played there, the name [Altamont] became etched in the minds of millions of people who love pop music and who hate it as well. If the name 'Woodstock' has come to denote the flowering of one phase of the youth culture, 'Altamont' has come to mean the end of it."[39]

While it's clear that the promoter is at fault for what happened in Rio, Taylor is still the face of the operation, and the longer she takes to respond publicly and/or to reach out to the victim's family, I can imagine, the worse the fallout will be. Doesn't mean she's to blame.

No one is blaming Taylor for someone’s death and whoever does clearly has some problems to sort out, but the least she/her team could do is to offer this family the support they need. Sometimes I’m amazed by how much we give to our faves (money spent on concert tickets, albums, flights, hotels, trains etc), they end up being billionaires but under circumstances like these, they don’t give a f! And those swifties who say it’s not her problem, clearly need to go for some therapy sessions. It’s sad and it goes to show how grateful these artists are for being who they are today because of US… and then there’s the questionable love they keep talking about, but where’s the love right now in this situation?

y’all can give me as many thumbs down as you want, it won’t change the fact this has been dealt with HORRIBLY & she and/or her team should have reacted differently the moment they found out.

RIP beautiful girl. It’s sad you died to go see your idol, yet your idol won’t even mention your name at a concert or do anything to reach out to your family! Truly tragic.

Is she gonna get the same hate like travis, from the gays?

Hmm yes, fan passing out while Taylor was entering the stage (dying at the hospital), Tayler passing out water HERSELF during the show, and Taylor finding out about it from her dressing room after the show. Exactly the same.

there's no way you're from Rio and is typing this at the same time.

do u stay in ur house everyday 24/7? cuz...

this is such an exaggeration. i have traveled to Rio at the very least 15 times, probably more (my city/state is 7hrs driving / 40min fight) and nothing ever happened with me

i went to rock in rio 3 times, maroon 5 concert, the weeknd, Selena concert when i was a little kid in 2012 imo

i went to CARNIVAL, i went to just stay at the beach, i went to go for nightclubs with my friends cuz i was tired of my city lmao i've already went there for countless reasons...

of course i pay attention, of course i know Rio is dangerous. of course i know i can be considered lucky, of course i know a lot of things.

but if i'm lucky so are others millions of people that are in Rio everyday and nothing happens with them.

what you're saying doesn't make sense. it's not like this.

this is a forum full of people from another countries and you're just typing **** that aren't true.

Dw sis I’m excited to visit Rio soon!

I think it would be easier for you to simply state: " I want no longer people to talk about this because Taylor's image and brand might be affected". Because that's what really worries you.

Bingo.

This is sad and what happens when you make yourself the center of attention in every thing you do. People EXPECT you to remain just as "fast" and "efficient" when it comes to helping others like she does her career.

I mean I do think their is a thing going on behind the scenes, Taylor will not this damage her image so call it PR or not I am sure she's gonna do something if she hasn't done already.

I'm black and the hate from swift fans needs to be studied because it's overwhelming hate. Towards people of minorities.

Brazil has always been a tropical country and heat waves have always existed. Gtfo with that 8th-grade level education.

What happened with this girl is an incredibly unfortunate mix of factors. Standing under the scorching Brazilian sun for hours during a heat wave and immediately getting in an overcrowded stadium (that had no ventilation or water bottles available) with thousands of other people is not something smart to do whether you all want to admit it or not. Let this be a lesson that no concert or artist is worth risking your life or well-being for.

She'll obviously do something about this, she's probably just plotting a PR move that's gonna make her look as the hero in this situation (as per usual)

I think you mean, she will somehow make herself look like the victim.

Taylor is not directly responsible, but she is not just an innocent bystander either.

She is the celebrity with the biggest carbon footprint in the world, the concert was held in a heatwave amplified by climate change, and the decision to keep the air-vents and emergency exits closed might not have been made by her personally, but it appears to have been done to prevent people from outside seeing the show.

In most parts of the world where there is legal action after a death, it would be normal to make a claim against all of the parties involved and let the courts decide the guilt of each defendant. But swifties shouldn't worry too much, the billionaire class will never be held accountable for climate change related damage, even deaths. The rich and powerful will suffer the minimum of cost and inconvenience.

Her fans helped raise money to transfer the body of Ana Benevides back to her family, which is something swifties can be proud of. But expect to see this happen again and again in the climate crisis, the super rich will be shielded from criticism and accountability and the poor and middle class in the global south will pick up the tab.

She’s not obligated to say anything to us, because we’re not that girl’s family nor is it our business. She said her original statement and dedicated a performance to her. She’s probably handling this privately with her family, because, that’s a thing people can do. not everything needs to be done for your entertainment because you love a spectacle and deducing a woman’s death to stan drama.

wanting an update is one thing, but thinking you’re ENTITLED to information that a family probably doesn’t want public, about a woman you probably don’t even care about so you can dunk on another woman you don’t even know is what’s really gross, nasty and insensitive. What’s even crazy is if Taylor did give you an update every two seconds you would scream she’s being performative. you don’t know what’s going on, so stop pretending that you do or that you can make the situation less complex than what it is.

That being said, if she chooses to speak out: great. if she doesn’t: good. I just hope that they can finally get her body and properly lay her to rest and that concert culture/etiquette/rules or whatever the **** gets reevaluated and changed. so many deaths could’ve been preventable had venues valued lives over a ******* dollar.

Very well said, some people have this entitlement mindset and don't think critically, which is concerning.

What's new :rip: now they'll wind their necks, ignore the other thread, and just say Swifties are the dramatic ones or that she "took too long" without knowing the timeframe this happened or the behind the scenes implications - but thinking is not particularly their forte when there's a chance to weaponize a situation.

But she dIdN'T ConTaACt ThEm!!!11111111 LIArrrrr!!! :juanny:

It was now reported by Washington Post that her team had to take precautions during the initial criminal investigation that is now underway against the production company T4F. Reached out as soon as they could, donated, and invited them to meet Taylor in person to give her respects. To the clowns that were saying "should've been right away!!!!" are either naive, crazy or clearly have NO idea how criminal cases work and how reckless it would be to act instantly, no billionaire status bypasses that.

Taylor has pretty much always stepped in and helped in times like these.  I think it's pretty clear that there's more going on (an impeding lawsuit, most likely) and she has to be extremely careful to not give anyone any reason to put her at fault. People are jumping to some pretty insane conclusions.

Why am I getting notifications that people are still downvoting this (when it looks like my post was correct)?:deadbanana2:  She literally reached out, helped them financially, and had her family at the show tonight to meet her.  Sheesh.
