Yeah, those few links don't equate to her being the nexus (which literally means the most central and focal point) of the cultural conversation around Israel and Palestine :toofunny3: Like not even close

But she won’t. Can imagine her sitting there asking daddy if she should do it. :skull:

Palestine wouldn’t be freed, but her concerts would be not be a safe place to go anymore.

Her fans would think it’s the name of a vault track and hurry to pre order eleven variants.

Okay, being the biggest pop culture figure places her in the big conversations. Is that better for you?

Even if she does, nothing is going to change sadly.

I... guess. I don't really care, but I think when you are actually aware of the "big conversations" that are happening and the widespread discourse on the issue around the world, Taylor Swift, or any public celebrity figure, is very low on that list. It's especially out of touch to say that she's any kind of focal point of the conversation.

She don’t seem like the person that cares about a genocide, and I’m saying that as a fan. Her career may be more important to her.

As opposed to all the other musical artists who deeply care about all genocides in the world and have spoken out against all of them :rip:

OT: people who expect any sort of celebrity who has nothing to do with politics, academics or activism to voice any sort of opinion on global conflicts are total weirdos

you taylor Can’t Swift be do and like things That

I wished she would speak up. Deep down i think she wont since she has a lot of Jewish / zionist friends who probably support Israel. But at the same time, Gigi Hadid is her bestie and she is pro-palestinian. Her speaking up would change a lot.

Lorde's too, but she literally did the best speech out of every other artist. So that shouldn't be an excuse.

i would go to the nearest music shop and buy all her albums

Taylor’s not touching this topic period. Most celebs aren’t because either you’re labeled as an antisemite or islamaphobic.

Not every popstar is a vocal pro-Palestine voice like Dua Lipa

Honestly I would respect her more and I can fully say that Taylor is no longer silent lamb when it comes to politics. If she did it, she might lose some followers but she would gain more in the process. If she remains silent like she always does, she is gonna stay the white feminist icon that she is.

Personally, I don't really want American pop stars giving political opinions while on tour in Latin America.  It just reeks of American-centrism and imperialism.

So the best of people from the Middle East can do to solve their problems is by asking the opinion of an American? who's just a singer and not a state representative?! Who also has never stepped foot into that region in her life? :rip:

When you have a genocide going on and a vulnerable group asks to have their story heard because a lot are misguided or ignorant, then yes the best people to bring awareness are those with massive following….

I don’t think there is an artist in the mainstream sphere that would do that

I never understand why Taylor always gets these isolated scenarios

People are in fact orbiting around her rn

Anti-Swifties are just as obsessed with Taylor as actual Swifties. It's the funniest thing.

Taylor Swift taking a break from speaking on politics: "She's just obsessed with money and refuses to stand for anything."

Beyonce performing in Saudi Arabia: "She still cares for the gays. She's just getting the bag. Stop hating."

It's funny how this forum still tries to paint Taylor as MAGA when she's endorsed liberal politicians, derided Trump, told her young voters to register to vote in the 2024 election(something Republicans don't like because they've been speaking on raising the voting age), and has collaborated with more pop, indie, and hip hop acts than country acts.

People who hate her and say they would support her more if she speaks up on this or any kind of similar topic are probably aware of negative consequences that would bring to her career and they, in fact, want that.

It’s not about speaking up and positively influencing situation(s) for Taylor’s detractors. It’s about speaking up, so her career path would potentially get damaged. Pathetic behaviour and mentality if I may note, but it is what it is with them.

Exactly.

They don't care about what Taylor actually stands for. They just want Taylor to say or do something alienating or controversial enough for her to fall off. There's no sincerity to it at all.

Also, Dua Lipa's literally the only MPG I know of who recently openly supported Palestine this year. Britney's silent. Gaga's silent. Billie's silent. Olivia's silent. Sabrina Carpenter's silent. Christina Aguilera's silent. Doja's silent. Etc. So, why even single Taylor out when very few of the MPG's did what Dua just did?

Because they see Taylor as someone who can potentially lose the most. When we are talking about someone not on her career amplitude, it is whatever since those can’t lose that much. It’s only about her getting damaged somehow. It’s never about any specific issue at given time ( like this one ). Nobody cares about that, they care about effects that kind of attitude can produce. Sadly, that’s the truth with certain people.
