I read the entire thing and this is just top tier trash and evil behavior. I am absolutely disgusted and enranged.

Cassie, while she settled, made her mark anyway. I hear people talking about this. Many more will come out. Reliving sucha significant trauma would be difficult.

Welp. I guess that's the end of it ,shame because so many victims could've been helped but now it'll just be passed on like it never happened.

This feels different. There has always been suspicion around Diddy about various things, true - but never as detailed as what Cassie did with her 35-page report and because of her being with him the longest out of any woman (after Kim P) and her known silence and obedience during the relationship...nobody seems to be doubting her credibility. That report will last on forever.

The people who it hurts most outside of Diddy are definitely the other woman who may have joined Cassie's lawsuit as other abuse victims, but may not have the means (or proven case) to make a settlement w Diddy even if they wanted to.

Settled just after a day.... **** better not get swept under the rug  :biblio:

I’m shocked!

This move from his side makes no sense. Settling in a day just speaks DESPERATION and huge fear of going to jail. With this settlement he is admitting he’s guilty and he’s actually encouraging others to file a lawsuit against him as well.

He was never at risk of going to jail babes, it was a civil suit.

I’m pretty sure she’s gonna be fine since now he cant do anything to her and get away with it since it’ll be obvious that he was involved

that was fast… :biblio:

he needs to rot in prison

Omg so scary! How awful…really feeling sorry for her. I hope justice is served, screw Diddy!

i hope she's careful...

whatever amount of $$$ she settled for i'm sure diddy will make it very hard behind the scenes for her to enjoy in the future.  he's scary.

He was so celebrated and protected by Hollywood elites that I genuinely thought his victims would NEVER get justice. Proud of Cassie and I hope his other victims get to speak out and get some form of justice too

I'll never fault victims for accepting settlements given how horrendous the legal system treats them. It's just infuriating that these rich men can finesse their way out of being held accountable by throwing money and making it go away.

The fact that he sprinted this fast to settle is an absolute admissions of guilt. **** him. I hope Cassie is well and healing.

I was doubtful that the lawsuit would go anywhere due to Diddy's influence in the industry, so this actually sounds like a win for Cassie. Diddy admitted his guilt, but sadly in his case he can just throw big money at the problem and it'll go away. One can only hope that this is a permanent stain on him and anyone publicly working with him or supporting him will be chastised.

Kind of a win for Cassie :clap3:wonder what kind of effect this will have on his career. Hope he faces some real consequences :mazen:

I can't believe that's how it ends. After all those things he has done. This is so depressing. I hope Cassie and her family stay safe.

It’s stories like this that make me miss Wendy. She always went after Diddy back in the day and I would have loved to of seen her talk about this on her show

No shade but this would not be good legal advice :rip: Like we can debate whether she should have moved forward with the lawsuit for larger justice/accountability reasons, but purely from the perspective of her own best interests (which is what her lawyer is supposed to look out for), taking a generous or even reasonable settlement offer this early is absolutely the better choice than dragging out YEARS of contentious litigation. Abuse claims of this nature are very difficult to win on, even with the lower burden of proof in a civil context, so she would have had to spend a ton of money (not to mention time and significant emotional stress) with nowhere close to a guarantee of success.

Like it sucks that he can get out of this so easily just by paying her some money to go away, but unfortunately it's the way better option for her than fighting this to the very end.

Legal system is so ****** up :ace:

Can't believe a victim of these horrors best and safest option would be a quick settlement :shakeno:

Wish she asked for at least 9 figures amount and not only 30M...

It’s funny how someone accepts money for total silence. This is how the rich get away with everything.

Cassie should’ve continued with her case and totally obliterate him. Because now it seems that it was all about getting money.

I’m sorry I find it so strange so many are not sympathetic with a woman whose been horrific sexual and domestic abuse not wanting to relive every moment again in a lawsuit with a powerful man that may take years to settle and with how people start harassing every movement women do in the courtroom as insincere or “she’s lying!!!” Her decision may not make sense to you but make sense to her, I hope she and her family remain safe

It’s gonna open a door and she laid it all out on the table to stain him.

She probably was not able to afford the legal battle on her own but her coming out is gonna make others!

im just glad she was able to reveal what she had been holding back for so long. though it was settled quickly (sean combs, you will begin to cough in 7 days.) she definitely shook the table with that lawsuit. whispers of diddy being a terrible person have been present for as long as i can remember but no one actually spoke until now. i pray for her safety and that she’s protected knowing how conniving and twisted that man is, a “love” rebrand isn’t changing sh*t. we love you cassie.

Good for the people who have faith that this will end him. But considering the short attention span for news (people move on within 72 hours) and the fact that there are other powerful men who have done similar and all they had to was lay low for a bit and then return, we’ll see.

Not going to blame Cassie for settling, and she at least got her story out there. Going through the entire process of a suit is stressful especially considering the trauma, but hopefully one day this does end with him in jail.

Other than bringing his name into public discourse which will probably die down in a week once people jump to the next thing, I don’t think this is what will finish him in the long run.

This is so motherfucking depressing.

He's done...relatively speaking.

And I say this as someone who liked him (or at least what he meant to Black culture) for a long time.

The 35-page document is damning. It's public. It's out. And it's forever.

I suspect the behind-the-scenes back and forth had his team thinking she would never go public...yet she did.

My thinking is that with the settlement she gets her coin and yet has her story out there for all to see.

As BS and vague as both of their settlement statements were, she crucially didn't deny anything she wrote. Very few people are actually doubting anything she's saying. The wave of favor is definitely hers.

So, assuming this doesn't open the floodgates for others, Diddy's image (which already had question marks over it) is still dented irreparably IMO. He's long been this godfather of music culture, yet many celebs would be dense to associate with him, the mainstream and even niche accolades won't be given to him anymore, and brands are unlikely to touch him.

Settling to avoid answering the fullness of the claims in court (which are probably worse than what's in the doc) is telling. If he's finished now, he'd have been completely finished if he ever had to take the stand. Settling was the lesser evil, but the damage is...done.

Y'all do realize that Cassie filled a civil suit and was asking for compensation? This wasn't a criminal case and Diddy was always going to get away with it by paying money :rip: And the trial probably wouldn't be public anyways, her court filling had enough details to get an opinion about Diddy, I think.

Also I hate this idea of SA victims being obligated to protect other potential victims by going into unfavourable court cases. The government is obligated to defend its citizens and they don't care since the victimblaming and slutshaming arguments are still attenuating circumstances in courts!
