In addition, even those who are growing conservative are not doing so in the traditional way. Conservative to a young person is "no kink at pride," not "trans people should not exist".

Susanna Gibson is holding on is HD-57 in Virginia with 16/19 precincts reporting and 12,000 outstanding early votes. The last three precincts are very conservative though. It’s gonna be close

I wouldn't be so optimistic. Young people age and tend to get more conservative, and the country is actually getting older.

Millenials (the oldest of which are over 40) are already debunking this trend

OT: as a virginia resident I haven't been too concerned about this election because I didn't see us losing the senate but nice to see regardless. :clap3:here's hoping for the house!

That's just not true anymore. For older generations yes, but this is gotten less and less true.

The current youth and younger generations are not at all shifting to be conservative at the rates older generations were.

OT: So glad it worked out again tonight. Abortion and MJ ftw :clap3:

I do not think it is. McCaffery is doing decently in rural areas while the Republican is not hitting the numbers they need to. :jonny: Once Philly comes in, it is over.

@Espresso The VA House is going to be so close. :ahh: But it feels good knowing Dems have done this well so far so I am fine with any result.

2021 really was basically people losing their minds cause they couldn't go to the mall due to COVID.

What such interesting political coalitions have formed in the aftermath.

Slam dunk for Democrats. They're only going to fail in Mississippi.

SOOO obsessed with this dude trying to be the Republican Stacey Abrahams but failing spectacularly.

Everything he gets involved in fails.

The Dems are SLAYING tonight, and in an off-year election where their party is in control of the executive branch. This is why I tell everyone to stop looking too far into 2024 presidential election polls. There's a difference between polling and actually voting. It is WAY too early.

There is a big difference tonight compared to 2024 though: Biden wasn't on the ballot.
