dua isn't an american artist, katy's biggest market (USA) dropped her after her second biggest era and if we speak about worldwide countries it is EVEN WORSE, of course dua isn't bigger than katy in 2014 but she is really big in the GP of so many countries around the world like UK, australia, canada, spain, brazil and more! 

 

her team isn't desperate like if dua wanted to release a generic pop album with some mid collabs just to have hits she will be already releasing more singles but she isn't doing that + she is the biggest female artists of WARNER like look how they treat ed sheeran, he flopped with his last two eras but they already confirmed it that he is going to have another big budget album with "PLAY" (his next big pop record).

 

houdini isn't dua's biggest single but she isn't that bad like other female artists if we are honest + 2014 >>>>>> 2023, if meghan trainor had a hit this year... EVERYONE CAN!

Ed has no label, his contract ended with "subtract" and he released his last album under his own label.

ed's independent label (gingerbread mam records) is working since 2015 and he wanted to release his first album there (autumn season), he still under atlantic records (he still on the official website).

houdini is a really good song and even if it doesn't end being a big hit still a great song + she literally has so many smash hits like DSN or levitating without a big producer like max martin, she doesn't need that and we don't want that...

i know maybe it isn't performing better than CTTR but dua can have a bigger hit than the whole witness era, it isn't that hard like CTTR has 550M streams and has barely sold only 8M WW...
