I'm still in love with the song and it's clear that they want to stretch the song's life till after the holidays so maybe we just need to relax and enjoy the art.

It was actually clear with DSN because she performed it everywhere during the holidays, she was setting it up to blow up in January by letting people know she was back

 

She dropped this, immediately went back on vacation and let it die. By the time she ‘wants to stretch it out’ there’s nothing to stretch anymore cause the song will be dead and no amount of promo is gonna turn that around

 

Not to mention it’s boring af and the fans couldn’t care less if she doesn’t. Not everything is about the GP

I get it of course more content is always welcomed but she's not a newcomer anymore. She can't be performing at every flop award show like the BBMAs and the NRJ mess because she simply has an image to maintain and she can't associate her brand with anything. She's in the big league now so every performance has to be amazing because the expectations are higher and she has to create some sort of demand and anticipation. 

 

I still have faith that the song will start to do better between the Christmas and New Year break and blow up in January.

Well thats not the case with Cold Heart and DTN but I get what you mean

 

Truthfully I don’t think anything will turn this song around, it’s a bomb and just didn’t click with the GP despite being a good song imo. However, if she would at least perform it I think stan twitter would have something to latch on to and it could become a cute little moderate hit like Padam Padam or Rush. This era is turning out to be a bit of a mess honestly, it doesn’t feel like we started a new era at all. Feels like we got a cute little droplet and we’re about to get news of the album/era getting shelved/reworked

Sadly I have to admit I didnt listen "Houdini" at all in last 7 days, I actually forgot about it :/

Yep! People are doing too much over a big performance. What we really need is more promo especially with stuff that can go viral. A cute Live in LA kind of moment could be really effective.

The rumored release date according to some other insiders is this Friday, Dec. 1, however, nothing has been officially confirmed regarding the release date.
