I can speak for Dua who had New Rules, One Kiss, Dont Start Now, Levitating and Cold Heart all pretty much in succession and which were all very big, massive, global hits with DSN, Levitating and CH being extremely massive in the US as well. Also, DTN is one of the biggest female Songs of the year in the US overall

 

Downplaying Dua due to lack of #1 peaks would be foolish, thats all im saying

Not to mention Levitating had a remix with a trendy rapper on top of the solo version 

 

The fact remains that she has 0 #1 singles or albums and she has more flops than hits in the US. Like I stated before, people know a few of her songs but have no idea who she is. And they simply don't care. And it's not really her fault. That seems to be the rule of thumb for anyone not named Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo or Morgan Wallen who has debuted post-2015

Saying no one knows who she is in USA when she’s been name-dropped in many popular American shows & movies, songs played at any big function, and she’s really popular for fashion, Americans were eating up her photo dump they called her queen of photo dumps. Many pop girls will need a trendy rapper from time to time to push their songs in North America, it’s been a thing for a very long time and will probably always be like that. Also, Billie, Dua, and Olivia all make very different music…lol.
