I only heard Black Cat because Christina Aguilera performed it, other than that. I had no idea.

For certain I knew Escapade cause people always said “we make the rules up as we go along and break em all if we’re not having fun” and ppl referenced the chorus a lot.

I knew clips of the videos of the others for different reasons. Black Cat cause it was a stage performance video that was used a lot for Janet. Miss You Much for the dance break. Love Will Never Do cause her hair was randomly different and the love interest was attractive to me as a kid lol.

RN is a fad in europe and i say this as Janet stan. Control, Janet. and The Global Rope had much more impact

Whoops Now was like huge in the radio here, whilst I never heard any of the RN songs before getting into her :rip:

I knew about Escapade.

I only knew Miss You Much from drag race I think

Black Cat & Love Will Never Do, probably not

Miss You Much & Escapade. Probably yes

Yes. Escapade and LWNDWY are glorious. Miss You Much has a good house remix by Shep Pettibone. Black Cat is ridiculous.

No. Janet is unfortunately unknown outside of her few main markets. Which is a shame cause I got into her discography recently and she has some really good songs.

Yes. My parents love the Jacksons.

I never heard any of the songs before I got into her discography. The album is complete excellence though.

Janet is a non factor in Asia so I didn't know most of her songs, even when migrating to the U.S., it wasn't until I got into pop culture that I learned about her songs.

Still don't know a single one of her songs aside from All for You, a career ending bop!

Yes. But I’m black. And have black parents who idolize Janet.

Not really. But again the only pop girls actually relevant from that era in my country were Madonna and Celine Dion

Yes. In fact, I actually had all of Janet’s single peak positions memorized before I learned my ABC’s. She was that big in my country!

I discovered the entire Rhythm Nation album through Drag Race :clap3: I got obsessed with ''If'' first (S10 finale lipsync) and then listened to RN right after

I joined in 2013 and didn’t know the RN songs but knew of its legacy. I remember hearing Miss You Much for a rate in 2015 or so and got into the album a while after. Shoutout to whoever made that rate back then lol

I think Escapade was one of my top played songs of 2019

i didn't know these specifically, but i knew a couple other Janet songs before i really got into her. she has a great discography, hoping she'll bring her new tour to Europe

Of course. :clap3: These are all classics, though the fact that Black Cat went #1 when Rhythm Nation itself didn't is just... :rip:

Before joining ATRL, I only knew Janet from the Scream video :rip:

But I'm pretty sure I've heard Rhythm Nation before.

Now my favorite song of hers is Feedback! Deserved to be a big comeback for her, can't believe it only peaked at #19

I didn't even know about the album's existence prior to joining atrl
