The Woman in Me Megathread | Out now | Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt bid for adaptation

Message added by Ryan,

Do NOT make negative comments about Britney using her then-constitutional right to have an abortion. She and Justin mutually agreed to the decision.

She didn’t talk much about Circus or the “comeback” that was staged around it.

Now that I’m older and time goes by quicker, the fast turn around between her public image in 2007 to 2008 is kind of bizarre. She was a joke to everyone in Blackout era, no shade. People had kinda been sneak hating her since 2002 ish. That’s around when it started being socially rewarded to bash Britney Spears because she was the poster girl for corporate pop music. I think her “downfall” was just something people were waiting for. It was like a tidal wave.  But by the time Womanizer rolled around, the media really sold the narrative of “She’s fixed. She’s the old Britney again.” and people more or less went with it.

Just goes to show how easily manipulated the masses can be. It’s also a cycle that gets repeated even today, just on lesser levels. Some Madonna -*****- back to Madonna ****.

Sorry I’m high and just typing thoughts

edit: That last sentence makes no sense thanks to ATRl’s censorship

We were all fooled by thinking her dad “saved” her

she says it in her book. How did was she able to put out her best work “blackout” during her troubled times?

the masses were also steered into thinking she was insane when she was just a 20 something going through a divorce and party phases

as a fan and as you mentioned time went slower when I was that age, 2008 was incredibly slow from my pov. From the con taking over in Jan, to her doing that sitcom, to the vmas to womanizer and finally 2009 circus tour.

She even says herself in the book how fast they put her to work. It just felt slower as we literally used to get pictures of her every move every single day

I think she can hopefully reach #2 before the years end.

Prince Harry

Princess of Pop Britney

I know Chemistry books are not going to outperform her. No ma'am.

Finished this in about a day. Loved the part about the bowl of receipts she used to have on the counter. :heart2: Responsible queen

I wish she'd gone into 2010 though. That year has always been the biggest mystery to me.

(iron flame hasn't released yet, though the first book is meh so)

Finished the book and whew, what a read :jonny:

One thing I did want to hear about more of though was more stories from the Circus and FF tours.

I’m also just now realizing (and please correct me if I’m wrong) but she doesn’t really speak much about the anti-Britney machine that was forming in the music industry around 2002 (the pop/punk girls etc.).

Overall, I’m so happy for her for getting the book out after all these years of being silenced.  We love you, Britney :heart2:

When she mentioned being offered an intense movie role around early 2007 I immediately remembered this but apparently these rumors swirled in 2008 so I guess it’s a different role we don’t know about.

I was surprised she hated oynx that much. Now that I understood how she felt personally, but the show itself seemed amazing

She didn't mention femme fatale at all lol

I mean when she was offered vegas she did say her heart wasn't in recording music anymore so it's definitely was not there for FF also.

I don't think she hated the stage show but the overall oversexed vibe of it all.

She was in a bad place and burnt out. Her team had no real them so they used Onyx hotel since she was on a massive schedule and aloto f the stage how had hote references as well as a dark element. She was wild and having a lot of "partying" fun with her dancers as anything went on that tour.

It was probably a fun but embarrassing college spring break event that she isn't fond of now.

Yeah it seems she really has no love lost for not just Britney Jean but Femme Fatale too.

I was dead at her even ignoring Scream and Shout when she mentioned the "one good song" she did with Will.i.am lol.

The way she doesn't talk about the will.i.am song either (manjobi) makes me more convinced than ever that he probably came to her, knowing only a Britney collab could probably save his flopping solo projects, and she was like, sure you can use the vocals but I'm literally not gonna do anything else for it. It's clear she didn't care about the release at all. Granted, even with HMC, she really didn't post a ton about it, but her radio silence on MYB is telling.

It's funny too how despite FF/BJ being meh for her, she clearly loves Work *****. I wonder how she feels about Pretty Girls.

The press really profited on making her the centrsl piece of the tabloid world, so the whole plot would end up at tragedy, it was expected.

Something similar happened to Billie Piper, she came a little before Britney in the UK and she broke records of youngest female to reach #1 single and album, she had a string of #1s, they invested in her and she was overworked while making promo all over. The press in the UK would be nasty to her, they would say she was untalented and couldnt sing, even after she made live promo, they would talk about her body, her going out "she is out of control" while she developed eating disorders and her psychological was going bad. She releasedcher sophomore album, had one more #1 hit, when her other singles underperformed her record company dropped her.

She was so traumatized that she went quite some time on a hiatus, change to acting and never sing anymore and till this day she says she doesnt wanted and she doesnt have good memories. Now she is a well known actress, but the press treated her like **** as a popstar and when she married someone twice her age. But the difference is she never go into a conservatorship. Her autobio came right after her retirement from pop music and it is called "Growing Pains" it is a nice read for people who loves pop and want to know what really goes on.

She was a great performer, her last #1:

it is more like Britney is the American Billie since she debuted feel months earlier. She now has a series about a former teen pop singer who is going crazy, much based in some of her experiences, I think she writes it too it is called "I Hate Suzie" and its on HBO Max, I liked it. She was on Dr Who, and she started at a series about a woman who paid her university costs by prostituting called "Secret Diaries of a Call Girl" that was pretty good.

It was recorded by Cade, so it’s probably iPhone audio.

According to her book she wasn't inspired a lot when creating a lot of stuff because her father kept dragging her around towards dark and depressing studios. That indicates she'd rather record music in a more  inspiring environment. The way I read that between the lines is that her dad took her to cheap studios (with the goal of to saving coins on recording music so more money goes into his pocket)

I thought it sold 9 million according to her fans but it’s already on discount? Weird. It’s hilarious that she had someone else read her audio book, on brand truly. I’m still deciding if I want a copy but I’ll wait until it’s even more discounted since they obviously overestimated the demand. I’m happy for her success, 400k debut is great.
