Britney’s whole shtick at that point was that she was saving herself for marriage. She was around 18/19 at this time. Britney had a whole press conference and she had to affirm to everyone that she was a virgin. 
 

People were a little more conservative 20+ years ago than they are today. Things we see as minor were much bigger deals back then.

This thread is WILD. Are people really downplaying how an abortion can be emotional and traumatizing? You can support abortion rights while understanding that it's not as easy as you're making it out to be.

Also, who are you to doubt how a woman deals with abortion? Y'all are screaming for people to stay out of woman's business, yet y'all are the FIRST to be in women's business and dictate how they should feel or experience such a life changing (for most) event.

I do agree with you, Britney isn’t saying he was the bad guy who forced her for this they both mutually decided Justin must’ve definitely pressured her and same goes for Britney family and her team. The real issue here is the aftermath, Britney aborted the child thinking she will have one someday with Justin which is also okay as couples break up! But the problem is how he became the victim and constantly trashed Britney in the media.

This could've cost her career had she chosen to keep the bebeh. All of her fans were essentially either kids or teens at most at the time, her public image was literally everything. She would've lost her commercial appeal and fans in a blink of an eye.

 

I also understand where Justin was coming from. They were both very young and he had the career drive to go on to achieve greater things. Being a parent at such a young age would also get in the way of his plans to have a solo singing and acting careers, although it's always harsher on the mother than it actually is for the father. 

 

I sympathize with Britney and what she went through. Maybe this sort of explains why I have always gotten the feeling she was never really 100% over him.

I think people forget how cruel the media was then. They would definitely villify her for having an abortion. Even when she had her children later on, she was constantly attacked and criticised.

Well, back in the 2000's Britney's career would have been over if she got pregnant (see: Jamie Lynn) even if she got married (not sure if she cared since having a family was always her biggest dream and she was already loaded after Baby and Oops).

 

Also to people defending Justin, 20 years ago he was supposed to marry Britney and have the kid not pressure her into abortion. Times were very different.

He ended up settling down with someone who he never truly wanted hence when they first started dating he cheated on her for years (anyone remember the Cameron Diaz fight backstage at the Golden Globes when he first got with Biel?). We all know he got caught cheating on her as rent as a few years ago. He also went on to talk about his ex (BRITNEY) for over a decade after their split, still went on to imply certain songs were about her, etc. People love to act like JT was so above Britney but he wasn't, he still pined over her but did it in a more passive aggressive way I guess because he was still bitter about their split long after she moved on and built her own family.

He even wrote an apology song (Another Song, All Over Again) on FSLS. I hope Brit talks about all the JT tea, people have been deluded into somehow thinking he "dodged a bullet" when he was the one begging her to get back together post CMAR.
