The Woman in Me Megathread | Out now | Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt bid for adaptation

Message added by Ryan,

Do NOT make negative comments about Britney using her then-constitutional right to have an abortion. She and Justin mutually agreed to the decision.

Jamie and Lynne filed for bankruptcy in July 1998

So what is this supposed to mean? She was forced to sign a record deal too? :rip:

This was also released by People; which is much more trustworthy. I think the OP should reference People and not trash TMZ

Britney reveals in her forthcoming memoir, 'The Woman In Me,' she had an abortion while dating Justin Timberlake because he "didn't want to be a father."

“It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” Britney writes of the pregnancy in the book. “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young."

She continues: "If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”

“To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life."

I wish she never met that man. It’s a shame she couldn’t have just found a nice guy at the start :biblio:

Girl stfu because in that case, why would she have started a music career if she knew she would’ve been a mom by the age of 18? If having a family was more important than having a career, then she would’ve never signed a record deal knowing that the industry didn’t play that s***… :rip:

She also worked after having her kids. She has always made it clear that having a family would come first to her. And now it makes sense why she was constantly saying that.

Its a really horrible situation :emofish: but i see nothing wrong here. Havin a Baby should always be a consented thing from both parents.
They were also very young :gaycat5:at the peak of their careers or just starting. You get why he didnt want it at the time :giraffe:

Of course if youre against abortion this is not a great thing and there's murder :gaycat3:
and he was also very hurtful after britney endured such a traumatic situation. No excuses for dat

Oh wow, i'm shook.

The Everytime song and music video hit different now, especially with the baby being born at the end and the song sounding like a lullaby.

Also she went through this and he went on to laugh about taking her virginity and constantly **** shaming Britney?! What trash.

The song and especially the video makes it more impactful now. With the baby scene at the end and the bleeding while she’s in the tub.

I think at this point it’s almost guaranteed that Everytime was written about her abortion. The lyrics, music video and the fact it sounds like a child’s lullaby are extremely telling after this reveal. It’s heartbreaking and also shocking that it’s been in our face for so many years and we never saw it.

I am not gonna fault JT for not wanting to be a father at 19. She was also the same age. She also states that they came to the decision together to not have a baby at that time. Unless she outright says that he pressured it, there is nothing about this to attack JT for.

That poor woman went through so much so early in life, no wonder she reached her breaking point by her mid 20's.

JT is a vile human being.

This tea was SPILLED years ago by “secret” insiders on her fan forums back in the 2000’s; I remember it vividly.

Nobody believed it though and who would to be honest - it was never mentioned or remotely addressed by Spears or Timberlake themselves.

:biblio:

That said…

From what I’m seeing here, Spears said herself that she doesn’t deem it to be tragic and that she mutually agreed also. I’m not about to psychoanalyse her relation with Timberlake but if she’s moved on then that’s ALL THAT MATTERS.

Also, both Spears and Timberlake were TEENAGERS. Why on earth are you people mad?

I always thought that JT was a disgusting pig but now I despise him even more. He’s aging like milk on his looks and as a person too, absolute TRASH

I’m happy that Britney was brave enough to share this with the world, it explains some things and i’m sure her book will explain even more stuff we had no idea about.

Yes, there is, after what they both endure with the abortion, he went to every single show to brag about how he take her virginity.

Oh wow. I knew Timberlake was terrified of this book but now I understand why. I'm shocked, it is a HUGE revelation and she kept it secret for 23 years, no one knew. The fact he cheated, bragged about having sex with her and bullied her for more than a decade after that is f***** up. This man has always been a horrible human being. Everytime makes so much more sense now. I never really understood the end scene with the baby... it must not be easy for Britney to sing this song or watch the music video.

I love this woman so much :heart2:

Justin shouldn't have been having unprotected sex if he wasn't ready to be a father. She only agreed to the abortion because he manipulated her into thinking they would still be able to build a family again in the future because they were too young at that point but, they for sure were financially stable enough to raise a child.  He was concerned about what the public would think and his image.

This, and the events that followed along with his behavior, forever changed her and her mental state.

Everything makes sense.

I always thought people who blamed Justin for her "meltdown" were being dramatic but it really does all make sense now.

She gets pregnant by the love of her life. The love of her life forces her to have an abortion. They break up. The love of her life humiliates her on a national level and she is forced to relive her trauma over and over through Cry Me A River.

She lives in regret of her abortion and wants to find a new partner and have babies as soon as possible. She settles for a backup dancer. K-Fed enables and encourages her to party and she spirals out of control.

It really does all go back to Justin. Unbelievable.

There were reports that Britney doesn’t want to perform Everytime anymore. I remember because it is actually one of my fave songs and I got sad when I read it. Must have been between 2004 and 2008. Her team must have forced her under the conservatorship. Maybe someone remembers it?

I didn't know he did this. What a douchebag.

Not yall using your favorite buzzwords to villainize Justin Timberlake as usual just because he didn’t want the baby. If she wanted to keep it it was always her choice. Unless she stated she was manipulated then stop trying to spin the story around.

What It's not clear in "we both agree with that?".

Abortion exist because if 19 years old make sex and the girl became pregnant you can tell "It's not the right Moment". Every One in the couple has the right to express how It feels. The the ultimate choice is on the woman. And She agreed in the end It was the right thing. Which is still a painful experience but just because your 19 years old girl get pregnant doesn't mean you have to be forced to became father or you don't have any right to express your feeling.

If She should have said " i was pregnant, i decided for an abortion but he was insisting i had to give birth" you would blame him anyways for the opposite reason :ninja:
