The Woman in Me Megathread | Out now | Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt bid for adaptation

Message added by Ryan,

Do NOT make negative comments about Britney using her then-constitutional right to have an abortion. She and Justin mutually agreed to the decision.

the father of the baby convinced the mother that he was in love with her and that they'd have a baby later,

Can you be a little bit serious right now? They were 18-19. Do you know how many high school couples (which is what they essentially are) delude themselves/each other into thinking they’re going to be together forever :rip:It is clear Britney was madly in love with Justin while he was just enjoying the ride. This is literally straight late teens/early 20s couple 101. To phrase the story like they were a married couple for years and Justin broke his vows is insane.

Justin’s reaction to the pregnancy was probably a wake-up call for Britney that she was taking the relationship far too serious and they’re not the soulmates she thought they were.

Imagine thinking Britney had ANY autonomy over her decisions at the age of 19 when she was trapped in a conservatorship from the age of 28 for 15 years :rip:

THIS.

No way she took this decision without the fam / corporate morgue influence. :cries:

Reminder: They annulled her wedding in early 2004*. They had a BIG say over her life.

people vilifying Justin for wanting an abortion at the peak of his career at like 20 years old :rip:

People are dragging him for the way he dragged her years after this

No one wants to be a parent at 19, he had the right not to want to be one

But the way he run his mouth and made a track and video to humiliate her was absolutely disgusting and this coming to light just makes him look 100000x worse

He was really really vile

This is definitely getting him another round of drags in the media

The vibes in here are getting very pro-lifey and conservative. Even down the people who are putting all the weight of the decision into Justin’s hands as if Britney (women) don’t have bodily autonomy. :rip:As others have said, this is a VERY common situation with straight couples. One wants the baby, other one doesn’t. Ultimately it is the woman who rightfully decides, and Britney chose to not have it.

Saying he “gaslight” her is insane. If anything her realizing he didn’t want the child while she initially wasn’t opposed to it probably made her realize that Justin wasn’t the forever-partner she thought he was and that made her not want to have a baby with him yet.

But the language would have been different.

She would have said "Justin supported me with whatever choice I made. We both ended up deciding that it wasn't the right time to raise a baby."

She said she could see them raising a family. It feels like Justin pressured her.

Holy **** I now understand why the sequence of In The Zone is Shadow - Brave New Girl - Everytime

Shadow = Justin's response to her pregnancy, the break down of their relationship

Brave New Girl = moving on, finding new fun in life without Justin

Everytime = the realization of what exactly she gave up on.

You do realize that barely anyone is going after him because of the abortion right? It’s because how he treated her publicly all those years, knowing what she went through. He shamed her for their breakup in a very nasty and public way, something that was wrong without knowing the background story. This, however, puts it all in a much, much worse light for him.

Girl, all that other sh** don’t matter. The point is, there’s people on the internet that believe it was a bad thing that he advised her to get an abortion because he made her realize they would be two children raising a child. Like, nobody shouldn’t even be saying that because it’s common sense but here we are :rip:

That's how they did the Photoshoot.

The editor talks about it:

“I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby. I don’t know if that was the right decision,” continued Spears, “If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”

Everytime music video comes really is different for me now.
Britney is really a symbol of resilience, it must’ve been a very difficult time for her!

I've worked in PR and know for a fact that it's very rare for that to occur. It may on some occasions, but more often that not it isn't the case

as someone who's done these day-of-shoot interviews countless times, agree to disagree lol

Spotify says "on easy", some Google sites said "uneasy" and it freaked me out for a moment that she was talking about the baby post abortion.

What other reason could there be to have the Ray of Light inspired Brave New Girl sandwiched between two sad ballads?
