PoisonPill Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Biggest concert movie of all time, she just can’t stop winning this year

Richie.Valdez Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Did anyone expect less when the movie tickets were $20 usd each?

Certainly not a dig, but, we all [factually] know how she’s gotten at least three of her #1 singles on the Hot 100 and why Midnights debuted with 1.5m but that’s neither here nor there 1 1 5

We'll see how Beyonce film will do with even higher prices... There's nothing unusual about Midnights sales, most albums have vinyl variants and they were all sold at full price and yet noone else is able to debut close to Taylor. Inflating sales would be doing something like selling vinyls for 5$ like Travis which Taylor never did. Edited October 16, 2023 by Axelios
Elusive Chanteuse Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 This is great but if these were normal ticket prices it would be around $60 million or less right? That’s impressive.

In regular ticket prices, this movie opened with $50 million. It's on par with the opening of Straight Outta Compton and Clash of the Titans lol. MJ's movie did over $260 million outside of the US, so Taylor's movie still has a lot to go because $30 million from 100 markets is whether you like it or not an underperformance. You are such an obsessed loser that I've seen you go on this same rant in multiple forums now Edited October 16, 2023 by burninredhot 5

I guess we’ll see if their movies gross more 3 1
JBJT2786 Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 Sucks she couldn't beat the October Record ( now we're stuck with Joker for a few more years, unless Joker 2 does more...tho I doubt it) but these are impressive numbers. I'm surprised the media overhyped the numbers like they did. The numbers were exactly what I expected ( especially with Friday being frontloaded as hell) and I doubt it'll do more than 200 Million US and 300M WW. But on a budget of 10M and her deal with AMC, she won cash wise.

JaXXXon Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 (edited) The Swifties are literally doing mental gymnastics They say "well, of course the movie debuted low overseas because she hasn't visited those countries yet" but the UK and Australia (which she hasn't visited either) have somehow had impressive launches at #1 so that excuse falls flat on its face. They say "well, the ticket prices were too expensive so some people couldn't afford to go" but now it turns out in some countries the tickets weren't that much expensive and judging by the UK and Australian audience and the American one, that excuse falls flat as well. They say "well, at least she opened to bigger numbers than Michael Jackson's movie" but forget the simple fact that MJ's movie is unadjusted for inflation and played daily whereas Swift's is only playing on weekends, which obviously will inflate her weekend numbers (we see what you tried there, girl ) so that also falls flat. Maybe if ya'll didn't call her the next MJ or that she would open to Barbie numbers and gross $1 billion all of us non-Swifties wouldn't have said a word. It's a success regardless but we all know from that Eras thread on here that most of you are probably a tad disappointed, especially from its international numbers. So next time, instead of calling her popularity unparalleled (which it isn't, especially in Europe and Latin America), come down to Earth and just be happy she's successful instead of all this flaunting. Congrats nonetheless though Edited October 17, 2023 by JaXXXon 2 1 5
Xtripped Posted October 17, 2023 Posted October 17, 2023 Massive. Honestly, she's the biggest popstar.

Sure, it didn't do Barbie numbers, but the fact it performed better than actual 2023 BLOCKBUSTER releases speaks volumes. The meltdown here really isn't warranted. 1

To act as if the movie is a flop just because some media outlets overestimated the debut numbers is so ridiculous Also, to completely ignore the fact that EVERY date of the Eras Tour in Europe/Latam is sold out while pushing that old agenda that Taylor is "local" is even more absurd. The endless cope is really something to witness
