It's also the classic case 'Blame the woman' misplaced misogyny while Drew is trying to keep her shows families clothed and fed and everyone continues to ignore the TRUE motherfuckers in this whole mess, the billionaire studio heads who would die before giving up superyachts and boardroom power.  Divide and conquer, just like always ...

THANK YOU.

It's not about the definition of the word. I know how to use google if that were the case.

Never once have I seen this word being used so frequently until it was relevant to Hollywood therefore gaining more exposure. Then the usual chain reaction follows: people who frequent social media for gossip start misusing this fancy word they saw somewhere. It then becomes mainstream and ends up losing all its meaning.

well... this is the most recent strike in more than a decade, ofc you won't hear it so frequently without a strike happening. :deadbanana2:

Considering the fact that the term has been created - yes. This term, neutrally, has also nothing to do with your wealth.

It quite literally is the definition of the word in the context of union strikes :rip:
And are you 100 years old? Because this word has been used for union strikes for that long :rip:

What the **** was wrong with Drew trying to continue her show during the strike?

She has a team with families, she wanted to provide.

Did anyone else do anything in order to keep the strike moving? Or everyone just sat quiet and “were on a strike”.

I wanna see the receipts.

And if people cross the picket line, the strike doesn’t work and the billionaires win :rip: It’s almost like the point of a strike is to be intentionally disruptive to place pressure on those in power that normally is not there.

Scab is derogatory.

so apparently I’ve been a scab because I didn’t join a teacher’s strike in my country because I didn’t want the students to suffer or lose any of my salary for survival. Ok

let’s not aim our anger at Drew out of all people.

I’m sorry but what is wrong with crossing the picket line? She pretty much did so for other people to work. Or am I wrong, she wrote all segments herself?

Mess, your anger at strikebreakers rightfully being called scabs makes so much more sense now :rip:

Nobody understands that millionaires don’t give a flying **** about strikes, they’re comfortable.

The impact should be within the middle class only.

Ok :rip: have you ever been part of one? How did that influence you? What did you do during the time of the strike? What were the results?

You are literally proving my point! There are countless strikes happening every day across the globe. Some get reported on some don't. And I'm sure there have been people who tried to break them in all occasions.

The point is that now that this is happening in Hollywood, people suddenly care about SCABS. You're a scab, she's a scab, everyone's a scab!! What a horrible world we live in!!

Is "scab" the new toxic / manipulative / bigot / gaslight / culture etc ? I've stopped using those words bc they make me feel like yet another twitter user who lacks critical thinking and uses whatever new daily buzzword they see on their feed thinking they're smart and educated.

SCAB has been a derogatory term for anti-union workers since James Madison’s administration.  It so funny how you so blissfully announced your ignorance.

Absolutely not, from my personal experience I didn’t strike as a teacher because the children were the ones suffering if I didn’t come to work and they had exams that semester. I get the whole point of striking but unfortunately it doesn’t translate in my wallet or 100 of students that rely on my lessons that I provide. Also, students don’t understand the concept of striking so to them I would only appear as a lazy bastard.
