If by media you mean popbase or buzzfeed because nobody with a high IQ is using that word.

Nobody with a high IQ is making idiot comments like this either, so where do we go from here?

:clap3: good for them. I love to see creatives and artists standing for what they believe in.

so many people keep saying hire new writers but how many writers do y'all think want to work on the show after what she has done? new writers also means a new show and that's doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be the same show as it is now.you also have to think about how the writers strike yielded results when they stood together for a cause, after this huge and well deserved win the power is in the writers hands than it is the talents.

Who cares. There are so many people who will have the job with the strike wrapping up

And yall don't give a **** about the crew members who were out of work and not on strike. It's not black and white.

I feel like people are doing too much on her

This didn’t deserve more than a couple days of backlash

Some want her to be treated like Ellen or some ****

Yeah like she screwed up and deserved some of it but this shouldn’t be a topic anymore.

You’d think a Cardi fan would know the importance of having good writers on your team :rogue:

Strike chatter aside, spell a Hollywood legend's last name right in your topic when the article you're posting does. 🙄

Didn't her main argument revolve around keeping the production crew that literally relies on her employed? She made the wrong call and was rightfully dragged, but there's nuance that's not being considered. People are acting like she woke up in her witch's castle, cackling and shouting "death to all writers!" as lightning flashed in the sky :skull:

She comes off as misguided or tone deaf at worst, but not malicious.

Is "scab" the new toxic / manipulative / bigot / gaslight / culture etc ? I've stopped using those words bc they make me feel like yet another twitter user who lacks critical thinking and uses whatever new daily buzzword they see on their feed thinking they're smart and educated.

You can LITERALLY create a table of contents about how these conversations will go. They are the same regardless of the topic. OP posts something to cause outrage or pretending to be outraged. People then post about how ‘disgusting’, ‘out of touch’ or any other ‘phobic’ titles are thrown around regardless of whether they are valid or not. Someone like you questions the use of the words (in this case scab) and then you are a ‘pick me’ (that is the most common) or in this case a bootlicker of major corporations.

Then, in this case if Drew hires other writers, the same people saying that her writers leaving is her punishment for being a ‘scab’, will be outraged that the writers leaving didn’t end her show when it was their CHOICE.

Scab has been used as a pejorative since the 1500s, and specifically for strikebreakers since the 1800s. Y’all wanna talk down to people while being this blatantly wrong and uninformed :rip:

Scab is derogatory.

so apparently I’ve been a scab because I didn’t join a teacher’s strike in my country because I didn’t want the students to suffer or lose any of my salary for survival. Ok

let’s not aim our anger at Drew out of all people.

She crossed the picket line. She is literally the definition of a scab.

I’m sorry but what is wrong with crossing the picket line? She pretty much did so for other people to work. Or am I wrong, she wrote all segments herself?

It's also the classic case 'Blame the woman' misplaced misogyny while Drew is trying to keep her shows families clothed and fed and everyone continues to ignore the TRUE motherfuckers in this whole mess, the billionaire studio heads who would die before giving up superyachts and boardroom power.  Divide and conquer, just like always ...

It's not about the definition of the word. I know how to use google if that were the case.

Never once have I seen this word being used so frequently until it was relevant to Hollywood therefore gaining more exposure. Then the usual chain reaction follows: people who frequent social media for gossip start misusing this fancy word they saw somewhere. It then becomes mainstream and ends up losing all its meaning.
