Its a bop but they really is turned to an 11 the entire time, particularly by her nonstop shrieking.

The mixing is bad and on top of that, she didn't release the explicit version :fish2:  still a bop tho!

The way there is not a SINGLE millisecond of free, silent space anywhere during the runtime of Your Body :deadbanana4:

From the first second of the song and the random orgasmic moan, through the 'HA! SAY! RIGHT!' all the way past the last synth burst the listener is being assaulted from literally every side and at literally every pitch imaginable with a wall of sound and a hailstorm of 2012-era electronic synth plonks. I think part of the reason it flopped like it did was because it was causing drivers to get nosebleeds when they heard it on the radio, and a few of them ended up crashing during the bridge of the song, which caused it to be quickly yanked from airwaves before it caused any fatalities :gaycat4:

this is all true :dies: but i still genuinely love the song.

"all i wanna do is **** your body" :jamming:

This is actually sending me, I love this song and haven’t listened to it in so long but holy **** it’s ****ing blowing out my eardrums. :ahh:

I can’t tell if I don’t remember it being this loud cause of the Mandela Effect or if it’s repressed trauma

It's terrible. It's like they put everything in the mix on the same audio level and turned it up to 9000.

I love it but yeah, the loudness wars were in full force with this one :deadbanana4:

I think that was the same year The Spirit Indestructible came out? Parking Lot is another example of a fantastic bop which has HORRIBLE mixing and is way too loud

Not even Max Martin could save Xtina from flopping and giving the English language confusion of the OP thinking this is an achievement instead of a drag I'm going to have to agree with them.

Why are Aguilerators posting this drag as if it was a compliment ? :bibliahh::juanny:

Ngl I like « Your Body » it’s a good song but yeah, the production is messy, it’s noisy, Christina keeps screaming throughout the entire song it can get exhausting real fast.

Idc, it’s a ******* BOP. Better mastering would have elevated it for sure but it’s still a stellar pop song.

"Your Body" peaked at #10 in Canada and within the top 20 in European countries. Even in the U.S. it's platinum-eligible despite not being performed/promoted back then. So no, it did not flop everywhere.

OT: This is a great and fun pop song. EDM music itself was loud, so I don't understand the "loudness" complaints tbh.

This is actually one of her songs I really enjoyed lol but my gosh music in the late 00s and early 10s is really HORRIBLE for the most part....so electronic, loud and just noisy for no reason. I'm so beyond glad we've been out of that EDM mess of a phase for a while now
