Final Fantasy Base | FF16 / Tekken 8 Collab

I just finished playing FF6 and I must say, I was a bit disappointed :chick3: the first half of the game is great, really captivating but the second half (after that event) felt all over the place, just doing random bosses and the ending also felt very abrupt.

So far I’ve played FF5, 6, 7 remake, 12 and 13 (this being my favorite so far). Now im

gonna start 13-2, I’ve heard is better than the first one so I have my hopes up :WAP:

Could this man be any hotter? :jonnycat:

And he is SUCH a sweetheart as well :wanda:

Back in the summer he did an interview and he talked about how he brought his dog to be with him for the Torgal scenes, and his dad passed away early into the voice over process and he said that really had an impact on his voice over as Clive :weeps:

13-1 and 13-2 have a soft spot cause that was the first one I played on release. I was so late to this franchise  even playing kingdom hearts all my life lol

Can SE do the right thing and port/remaster the FFXIII trilogy to PS5 already :biblio: I have such an itch to replay those games but I don't have a PS3 anymore nor do I have Lightning Returns. STOP IGNORING ONE OF YOUR BETTER ENTRIES IN THE FRANCHISE

Exactly!! I’ve been so annoyed it hasn’t come yet. At least allow it to be streamed on the ps cloud stuff

Oh wow same here. Played KH since its first release in 2002 but never grabbed a FF till 13. And I was obsessed with XIII-2

Hi my ff bebitas, I'm a newbie to the franchise. Which one should I start with? Mind you I don't own a ps5 :sadviolin:

Hey great to see you here too

I agree with what was said that 6 - 10 are universally the most beloved.

I think 7 will do, not sure if I should go for the remake or the original yet

I picked up used physical Switch copies of the FFX and FFXII remasters for dirt cheap a few weeks ago and have been replaying both at the same time. FFX was my absolute favourite childhood JRPG alongside Grandia II while I loathed FFXII when I originally played it.

Switched like a *** and now I have almost the exact opposite opinion. :rip: I still love FFX's classic turn-based combat system but the melodrama and tropey anime characters aren't for me anymore whereas I guess I was unable to appreciate FFXII's focus on world politics and the gambit system as a child but now I do.

Also the way Fran just straight up sounds like Björk sdsdsd :deadvision:

XII is my favorite gameplay wise. I love the open world, quests, gambit system and versatility of the characters. Hunting around the world for the summons too was so good!

Honestly I would die if they remade every game in the gameplay style of FF16. I just can't go back to turn-based gameplay anymore.

I got into the series with FF V almost 13 years ago but I have never bothered with anything after FF X. They just look too high tech and not very FF to me :stare:

Honestly the best thing about FF is always the soundtrack. This is timeless :worship2:

FF16 is based on medieval fantasy, you may find that more up your alley

I started FFX yesterday. I’m ready to see why everyone praises :WAP:

Lemme give my ranking so far too:

1. FFXVI

2. FF7Remake

3. FFXIII-2

4. FFXII (I love the political story of this game and gambit. It’s so hard to rank these)

5. FFXV (I LOVED this game when it came out but coming back to it now it feels so clunky)

6. FFXIII (I never actually finished it cause I got stuck near the end and was lazy af at grinding at 12, but I liked Lightning but couldn’t understand the story lmao)

7. FFSOP (isn’t that bad but just PS3 graphics and game in 2022)

I think that’s all the ones I’ve played? Well I’ve played some XIV but that type of game isn’t for me. I love that the franchise adapts and evolves and is moving into more action. Much more enticing than turn based.

Has anyone played FF Type 0 (or whatever it’s called lol) I can get it for free with ps plus but have like never heard of it

FF X is a masterpiece :jonny6:  the ending was brutal for me

did anyone play the NDS games (Ring of Fates, Echoes of Time)? I was obsessed

On this topic, Searching for Friends is such an appropriately named theme song, it really makes you feel the despair and chaos that has taken over the world after that event. Nobuo Uematsu is so talented

I didn't play it, but if it's free then it may be worth checking out :duca:

I played the GBA Tactics Advance game. Was cute. The "world creation" system had fantastic replay value. You get different reward items based on where you choose to place down cities / mountains. And bonus items based on what locations are close to them.
