Where's the dislike for Taylor swift coming from?

Recommended Posts

Personally for me, it was the swarms of little monsters coming to hide behind her since 1989. In the end, I don't actually hate her and I think she's pretty much inoffensive and ok. I also would like to point out that I don't gag at her current success because she's been playing very safely throughout her career so it makes sense that in this day and age where everything is so sanitized, she'd be the one to stick out. It is not about her craft or the quality of, it's all about how many consumers she can get. Kudos to her though, she's played the game so well (albeit very calculated)

Barely anybody hates Taylor, I’ve been called an OTH when she’s currently my 3rd most played pop girl behind Bey and Rih.

It’s the Swifties that are hated and rightfully so. They rival the BTS army as the worst fanbase of all time and when you call out their delusion, animosity and in many cases racism you’re assumed to “hate Taylor”.

An awful cult of a fanbase.

Maybe online. But irl most Swifites are some of the best fanbase. Army are the worst.

This is going to be reported but whatever oh well.

i don’t necessarily dislike her but just don’t get the hype.

she mediocre and is praised to the high heavens. She can’t sing, can’t dance, can’t perform, plays victim, fans are annoying, mediocre guitarist and pianist. She can write  very well but her music would be better for someone who could actually sing them well. She is constantly compared to others who are far more talented then her. She is the textbook definition of a mediocre yt person but still skates by. Ed Sheeran also fits this bill but gets hated on but Taylor gets treated with kid gloves

And before you downvote this just know I don’t check those and if it gets reported I’ll accept the report and keep it pushing 🤷🏾‍♂️

This.
And her stans know this which is why they feel so threatened especially by other women. :giraffe:

Not this 💀 when the first thing swifties usually bring up when her big numbers are revealed is that she did it without resorting to selling sex as if women expressing their sexuality was something inherently wrong lmao

her success is just not proportional to her musical talent and it will never be :foxaylove2:

Isn’t she consistently one of the most acclaimed pop girls by professionals? Like she hasn’t had an album below 80 on meta post Lover

calling taylor untalented when she clearly is musically more talented than 90% of MPGs is weird.

imagine being able to write perfect songs that other artists can't write without having 6-8 other writers in the room with them, imagine being a multi-instrumentalist and play multiple instruments like the piano, banjo, and guitar, imagine being able to produce actual great songs and not having already completed songs sent to you, imagine starting ur career as a director and receiving acclaim from big names in Hollywood, imagine being able to put on a show and only rely on your own voice, emotions, and a guitar to control a whole stadium (that's what we call stage presence btw)

but some still think the peak of talent and creativity is extravagant outfits, wigs, dance moves, acting all sassy and cool, and being totally controversial while letting the world sexualise the **** out of you.

What hate? She is like the most beloved idol out right now:rip:

it’s mainly just swifties have become as obnoxiously annoying as BTS Army’s.

Not to mention her peers give her acclaim via industry voted awards too. Like she gets critical acclaim, awards, and user scores that are all above average. But because they individually don’t like her music their opinion is supposed to overtake everyone else’s :rip: Her success is perfectly proportional to the general public response to her music.

I will forever admire women for expressing their sexuality, but some entitled gay men in here or on twitter think that women not expressing their sexuality is something that would make them less deserving of success and attention.

I feel like she is a little overly-criticized nowadays but it's really just people getting into stan wars with Swifties and she often ends up as collateral damage. But having a few detractors here and there is totally normal given her status.  I hear nothing but positive things about her in my real life circles. :jonny5:

I have no personal ill will towards Taylor, I can appreciate what she offers to music. HOWEVER, the constant gaslighting and punching down from her fans gets so annoying that you can’t help but roll your eyes and shade the woman. All the stats in the world will never make her anything more than a slightly above mediocre  talent in my eyes, and that’s fine. It shouldn’t make Swifties irate when people don’t fall for their “Greatest artist of all time” propaganda

i’m supposed to care about that? the fact that she struggles to stay on key while playing the song she’s singing on a guitar is just honestly laughable :rip:

her music and vocals lack texture and  complexity. most if not all of her songs are recorded in the same key, i’ve never seen her pull off a modulation during a song (would love to see her attempt it), and all her melodies are quite similar… so her being most acclaimed means nothing and just points to how she receives the most from doing the least :rip:

people genuinely SEETHE over her on this site it’s so funny like she really gets them riled up

People think that hating on something or someone that is popular is an easy way to appear cool. No one has to like every artist of course, but many people on this forum go really out of their way to make sure everyone knows how much they don't like Taylor, to the point where they literally invent stuff about her to criticize. If they truly hated her they would just... not talk about her

There are many artists that are not my cup of tea but it would never occur to me to talk about... how much I don't like them

Once again girl if you’re here for a “singer” there’s a lot of failed The Voice winners you can follow. I think a lot of non-fans underestimate the emotional connection a lot of us have to the songs themselves

rihanna literally can't play anything so now what

rihanna also doesn't write, barely dances, her vocals are just good, nothing incredible etc.

Bitterness. If people just disliked her or just weren’t into her they would just ignore her. But her haters are very vocal and enter every thread to tell us about how much they dislike her

If you personally don’t like those things about her music that’s perfectly fine. But to claim her success doesn’t match the quality quite literally indicates you think that your opinions on her music should outweigh everyone else’s. No one persons musical preferences matter over another’s. I wish y’all would stop acting so high and mighty just because Taylor can’t sing with melisma or vibrato :rip:

Get the memo: we do not care. If we want to hear a vocalist sing, we know where to find them. Taylor is widely enjoyed because of her talent for combining emotion with memory. Two incredibly powerful components of the human mind.

It's so funny to see many haters in this thread who are literally in all of her threads constantly repeating how much they dislike her and how untalented she is. I mean, does it truly give you joy to pass your time like this? Do you realize you're actually giving the person that she wrote Mean about? The only explanation I have is that people are desperate to stand out by hating someone who is very popular

Y'all know who you are

i gagged you so you had to bring up rihanna :rip:

the way you typed this out you’d think you are present in the studio when she’s recording. how does she not write when she has writing credits?

answer it quickly.
