You’re only saying that because you know how big these albums became after their release, even the swifties were saying Taylor killed Midnights hype with those TikToks revealing the tracklist.

Idgi tho? 'Midnights' had a lot of hype prior to its release

I think she'll do fine. The era has already got two hits, and I think a 200k-300k figure is locked for the first week.

I think the major issue is 3 months between lead single and the album. If you sell a lot of physicals you can announce it 3 months in advance and try some promo/marketing moves to boost pre-orders, but releasing the lead single that much time in advance is what kills the hype, even if the lead single is successful and well received like Vampire. A big part of the audience reacts as if they have already received the product they were waiting for.

yeah yeah i mean if you release already the material.

Midnights strategy was perfect and i think it's the best thing you can make now. Someone should say "but if you don't release nothing not everyone is Taylor Swift with people still hyping it"

well actually everyone was saying "people forgot about midnights"  before it came too so i think should work for everyone is strong and has a big fanbase.

Yes, from me. :gaycat:

I really hope the album and singles have longevity for her. Does anyone think that Vampire will have another push from Halloween next month too?

Isn't the lead single about to repeak (and potentially go #1) in the UK today?

I think she dropped some signed Vampire stuff on her store this week

I believe the song was still growing there regardless, didn't they drop that stuff precisely to try and compete harder for the #1 cuz it's close

No, she will pull 7m streams at best and debut at #140 on Billboard, slightly better than Bebe Rexha.

It wasn't signed. Just normal cassettes and CDs, they've been available to pre-order for a while now but only shipped this week.

I think there’s hype for sure but not as big as I tought it will be, she will still do decent numbers & debut at #1 unless Drake decide to drop an album next week

We need some promo, Olivia need to book VMAS performance

People's attention span is so short. Every day there are new exciting things happening for every fandom.

All she needs is to promote on release week heavily to get back on the front pages of news outlets and social media and she'll be fine.

Miss @Beyonnaise giving this era more promo than Olivia does. Thanks, sis. :heart2:

She's not gonna have a song in the top 10 when the album is released despite having two singles out :rip:.

Im sure she'll do decent first week and the fans will cling to that and say GUTS was successful though it will most likely fall down the charts like her singles.

There was more hype for vampire tbh but it's locked for a 250k+ debut which is great :clap3:

It might be a similar situation to SOUR where the album drop kinda creates the hype.

I remember Good 4 U was gathering steam by the album release but Deja Vu has stalled. It only gained momentum with the album drop.

If it does underperform, Olivia might be pulling an Avril Lavigne with a massive debut and a more lukewarm reception to the sophomore.

This. I feel like there's no "hype" because people who tune it already pre-order & pre-saves the album waiting for the notification

I remember I felt the same way during SOUR release and yet here we are

There is def hype and you will seethe when it outdebuts both WWAFA and HTE user @Beyonnaise

Outdebuts? So it will peak at #0?

I feel like Guys will debut with +800k. I mean she is coming after the biggest debut of this millennium and the talk back in 2021 was that Sour wasn’t going to be her peak and she was going to be even bigger with her second album, so I expect a huge first week sales with the album being #1 for 8 weeks and staying in the top 10 for 80 weeks.

She'll do a good first week (probably 400k ish) but it won't have much longevity
