Is Lizzo truly over?

kelly’s situation was a bit more different, the hostile work environment was solely blamed on the producers of the show and not kelly herself, they even emphasized how unaware she was of it. lizzo’s case solely placed the blame on her and puts her in an awful light. plus, like it was said before, all the allegations go completely against what lizzo represented as a public figure and an artist, this most likely isn’t gonna end well tbh.

They blame Lizzo and the Dance Captain or whatever that role is. But you are right they still blame Lizzo.

Is a strip club considered a 'work environment' in this case? That could be what determines the outcome of this suit. If the allegations are true then shame on Lizzo!

the location doesn't matter, what she did was considered sexual assault

Her problem is that she doesn’t have a solid fanbase like Britney, Gaga or Beyoncé to fight for her.

she relies on the GP, so I think she is over.

Does the gp care about this?

Her audience (the ppl used to watch Ellen DeGeneres and now switch to Kelly Clarkson talkshow) will care about this

It’s gonna be a reverse “It ain’t over till the fat lady sings” experience :angelo:

If paedophiles and women-beater can still have a career, I'm sure Lizzo will be fine too. No one is ever really cancelled.

Problematic women will get canceled in a heartbeat while this country will continue to support Morgan Wallen, Jason Aldean, and Travis Scott :mazen:

Did they abuse their staff? I'm not justifying their behaviour but one thing to make a mistake or say something offensive, but actively mistreating people around you who WORK FOR you and are therefore dependent upon you, is a different thing. It's abuse of power and direct abuse of individuals. So, no, the GP does not support Bill Cosby, Chris Brown, Harvey Weinstein, Charlie Sheen, etc.

she was at risk of being over regardless just because her music and image are very novelty and meghan trainor'd but if she releases a radio friendly earworm in 6 months or whenever, she'll be fine. same with doja. most people are really just not as plugged into this stuff as some of you think.

Will radio play it though? They could just not play it even if it's a bop. They do that all the time. And they honestly are looking for reasons NOT to play her music because she is a plus size black woman. I'm not defending her behaviour AT ALL but I'm also not denying bias and prejudice against plus size women and black women that she is subjected to. This will be an easy reason for them to never touch her music again even if it's really good.

Absolutely. Someone mentioned in a thread a few weeks ago that “canceling” only works when liberal/non conservatives and people who follow pop culture do it. Lizzo’s followers are the exact people who would be unforgiving and pull an Ellen on her.

she’s also not popular enough/nor does she have the fan base to fall back on when she does get effected by this

I agree in general about how men vs. women are treated, but this isn’t what we’re seeing here.

Lizzo has specifically cultivated an image around body positivity and self-love. The comparison would only hold if Jason Aldean had previously been known for opposing racism.

We’ve seen this over and over again. The internet is only capable of cancelling people who were supposed to be “woke” or “liberal” in the first place. Trying to cancel Morgan Wallen or Jason Aldean will never work, because their fans never expected or wanted those values from them.

You hit the nail right there with only one hit. Thanks a lot.

she already struggle a bit with her last album, ADT was a lucky hit.

Her true power comes from touring, she is a good performer and the positive vibe help to sell tickets, but this scandal really make her tour become super awkward lol.
