If fans are getting organized to manipulate the charts the records don’t mean anything

longest number 1 most number 1s it’s all fraudulent

In my opinion, the charts lost their legitimacy in early 2020 when Billboard removed UGC from the charts, but did nothing to address a potential mass buying problem. Take a look at the #1 hits from 2020. Half of them are fraudulent, and a lot of them aren’t even remembered anymore.

pretty soon the Top 5 songs of all time will be from the 2020's and onward. :rip:  Kinda doesn't make sense, does it?

1. Blinding Lights

2. Stay

3. As it Was

4. Last Night

5. Rockstar

6. The Twist

Wow, could Last Night eventually be #1 of all time?

well it depends on how long it lasts before being pushed out of the Top 25 on the Hot 100.  It's gonna be a long time still, and Xmas songs pushing it out don't count.  It'll probably give Blinding Lights a run for its money.

Probably not, Billboard is going to either lower the multiplier or change the methodology before that happens. I am 100% certain that Blinding Lights will move back below The Twist when the all-time list is next updated. BL, Stay, AIW, and LN cannot represent 40% of the all-time Top 10, when they only represent about 6% of the entire existence of the Hot 100 chart.

Nah. The song is fine but it's not better than those songs. Especially because the song is a lose/lose situation right now: the Taylor comparisons make Olivia seem like a whiny brat (it was her choice to interpolate Cruel Summer on one of her weaker songs without giving credit initially). And on the flip side, if it's actually about another ex of hers, it's just too similar in vein to what she's already known for.

Streaming has permanently changed the way the charts function and it doesn't seem like there's any way back at this point. These are the charts now, for better or worse :chick3:

I wonder what the biggest song of the 70's was?  Pretty sure Physical was #1 of the 80's?

Yes. Also the first double-digit #1 (10 weeks or more) ever.

Consistently low yes. The first week was very inflated by those 40k vinyl singles.

Yeah It will stabilize because of radio (those 300+ spins each day on pop radio will keep Vampire in the top 10 for a long time):michael:
