I kinda wanted it to last for years :katie: One, to bleed greedy Hollywood dry. Two, to force the ignorant unwashed GP to go back and discover literally anything they may have missed from the 130 years of motion picture entertainment that already exists, instead of binging artistically bankrupt new garbage which.they only half pay attention to in the background while scrolling TikTok

well people’s livelihoods depended on an agreement so i don’t think it would have been doable in the long term :doc:

Hollywood is v greedy so I didn’t see this coming and to be fair social media (specifically the competition they face with TikTok and YT) and streaming has the entire industry locked in fear. But this makes me incredibly happy :clap3:

im interested to see the terms, the AI piece is incredibly important

Why do I feel now studios are gonna cut down a ton on the amount of streaming shows they produce

It was inevitable. The streaming bubble popped.

"As the WGA leadership and members move forward on the scribes’ tentative agreement with the studios and streamers, the 160,000-strong actors union could be sitting down with the AMPTP within days.

Riding the momentum that has hit Hollywood since the WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers struck a deal on September 24, SAG-AFTRA leaders have penciled in meetings with the Carol Lombardini-led group by the end of next week, we hear."

end of next week? why wait now? hopefully sooner

We’re gonna end up paying for it tho. Streaming and entertainment prices are gonna go through the roof. The only way studios will give more is by squeezing the consumers.

I am curious about that true viewership data, so only the studio and writers will know how valuable their show is
