ATRLers had some strong opinions on this one, with @Supervillain going as far to say it is “possibly her worst song ever”. Personally, I think the song works very well on the album and is a nice change of pace to the dance pop tracks that precede it. greento Posted July 27, 2023 Author Posted July 27, 2023 So I'm running in circles again, reaching dead ends, I guess I'm not over it yet The final reveal of this set is yet another from Rina Sawayama’s sophomore album, Hold The Girl. “Forgiveness” is about Rina realising that she needs to confront her past and forgive the other person rather than pushing the experience down and trying to supress those feelings. Rina has said that she wanted the production to reflect the feeling of “dragging your feet down this path that you’re walking to get to forgiveness” by having the drums sound like they’re “a little bit behind the beat”. I'm surprised how badly this song did here, considering it only got given one 1 and no 0s. I guess it was, again, due to nobody feeling too strongly about it in a positive direction that kept it down. ATRLers didn't have much to say here, @Virgos Groove simply called it a "Disney ass song". Lovers (10s and 11s): None Haters (0s and 1s): 1 - Born to Run
