Nobody seems to be doing the RnB-pop thing circa 00's. Everybody is too bussy doing either boring RnB or slu*ty rap. Alex Posted July 26, 2023 Author Share Posted July 26, 2023 tbh... now that we're talking about it, when I found out the hook was just shopped to her and she didn't write a word of it, I was a bit disappointed. Like yeah it's industry standard for a lot of artists but Doechii didn't particularly come off as the type to do that. After hearing songs like Crazy, Swamp B*tches, Yucky Blucky Fruitcake, Persuasive, you can tell Doechii wrote that. What It Is chipped a bit away of doechii's personality lyrically (due to her uninvolvement) and despite it being a hit and whatever, it's not as appealing to me because that's not really Doechii lol. Like a lot of other people could sing that idk, so that's why I'll drag it a bit. It did what it had to do for her career and I get it, it's a stepping stone / right of passage if you will, but I hope she goes back to her real sound for this album! 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
