*payola

Playlisting is not payola. Every big artist does it. It’s only payola when it’s an artist you don’t like, sush :priceless:

Meh. She’s the new Rihanna and Rihanna used to get this exact same criticism her entire career, she would never debut high and people would complain about her lack of power.  Then she’d end up fine in the end. I don’t see this song being a top 10 hit or anything but I’m not concerned. Her real test is D3.

Also yeah she needs to change up her sound. New age disco is really tired now.

She is not a thing outside of gay circles. No one knows of her, just her songs and that's after the 10 month radio and playlist payola campaigns.

I'm sure this song will join the rest of her singles and become a "slow-hit" (months of payola).

Dua is never a high debuts girl. If it does end  up being a smash it will be because of longevity and not a quick cute debut :clap3:

If by "longevity" you mean months of heavy streaming and radio payola then sure.

How is it payola if other artists have heavy playlisting and radio deals as well and still cant seem to get a hit with longevity? If the music is good, people will actually stream it. You’re a broken clock but you never have the proof or the receipts to back it up. I’m surprised you’re not drowning in the smell with all the **** that comes out of your mouth :priceless:

That's decent.

It is bad. This is not “a soundtrack”, this is A BARBIE soundtrack, the most hyped movie of the year. The fact that this is a soundtrack for a movie with this level of hype should in fact help the numbers. And it also had MV, huge Playlisting and Radio. So it is a bad debut.

With that said, Dua has never been the kind of artist that debuts high, her hits are GP fueled and that takes time. So it can still be a hit at the end of the day.

The very few artists that receive as much as a consistent push of Dua have much better debuts and bigger hits than her.

This is not true, artists that have high GP interest always get strong debuts. Dua has no organic interest from the GP, her songs need months of radio and streaming payola to be somewhat successful.

I see we found an Obsessed Dua Hater :isudumblmao:

I’m sorry but there’s only so much radio and streaming payola can do. Dua songs are hits because they resonate with the GP. This ridiculous nothing of her songs being hits because of payola is non-sense… I’ve seen plenty of “payola’d” songs fell flat on their face and none of this is true for dua. The mere fact that her songs serves LONGEVITY on the charts and through streaming is proof enough that GP actually like her songs… She just needs to work on connecting her image to the songs

Only 700k more than Selena's Back To You (2018) is kinda bad ngl :rip:

But the idea that Dua has all these hits because of "payola" is ridiculous :ahh: you can't payola hit after hit after hit.

This!! Payola can only do so much like let’s put on our thinking caps for ONCE! The songs are clearly connecting.

Well, it was expected. Now let's hope it doesn't freefall like Floppest Pie

Right she has multiple Instagram posts at 6-8M likes but “no one knows her”

Dua Lipa tag has 13B views on TikTok, billions on YouTube, etc.

But sure. A random user on a forum ignores all logic to say “no one knows of her”

I think the quality of the song was the biggest factor here, and not all that faceless **** y’all are saying:rip:

Im a Dua fan and I only streamed it once on Spotify and once on YT, had it been a great song I would’ve played it +10 times

Anyways cute numbers, we’re ready for the DL3 lead smash:jonny5:

Really good for a soundtrack song. :clap3:
