Popular Post JennyWayne Posted May 11 Popular Post Posted May 11 I would like to remind everyone that: In 2022 6 countries (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania and San Marino) tried to cheat by rigging the jury vote in favour of each other. The EBU did not take any actions against these countries aside from nullifying their jury vote In 2013 Azerbaijan tried rigging the televote by bribing people in over 15 countries to vote for the Azerbaijani entry. The EBU did nothing because according to them, ''there was no evidence that any broadcaster has been involved in cheating'' In 2009, a number of Azerbaijanis who had voted for Armenia's entry during the contest were summoned for questioning at the Ministry of National Security in Baku, during which they were accused of being "unpatriotic" and "a potential security threat". The EBU did not take any serious sanctions against Azerbaijan. Instead, the EBU fined the delegation a laughable 2.700 euros. Later in 2009, a subsequent EBU investigation found that the Azerbaijani broadcaster, Ictimai TV, had blurred out the number for Armenia's entry and distorted the TV signal when the Armenian contestants were performing on stage. The EBU fined Ictimai TV an undisclosed sum and is said to have threatened to exclude the broadcaster from the competition for up to three years if further infractions of the Eurovision Song Contest rules are made. The EBU did not ban any of these countries for these incidents, yet they found it fitting enough to disqualify an artist after merely a report had been made when they verbally lashed out at a journalist that did not respect their boundaries. 20
Mezik Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Israel really be controlling the behind the scenes politics, wouldn't surprise me if the 'person threatened by Joost' was paid by Israeli media to lie. 1
Gwendolyn Posted May 11 Posted May 11 I wonder if a solution at this point will be strictly Eurovision to countries only in Europe at this rate. 1

DUA LIPA Posted May 11 Posted May 11 also at this stage regarding all the information that we've been given, the entire joost dillema seems like such foul play on the ebu's part; how does the incident that was described in the press release (this and the other statements are the only ACTUALY official information we've been given so far) does not warrant one of the three possible solutions that were discussed in the (hour long) meeting that happened between the ebu and the dutch broadcaster/delegation. by reading the dutch statements i cannot believe they would release them and describe the incident in this way if what actually occurred would differ completely and be of much bigger gravity than how they seem to frame it. 2
DUA LIPA Posted May 11 Posted May 11 i mean turkey could pretend they're alright with cyprus for years so there is some sort of case to be made to try to make kosovo happen as well.
Nashe Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Take it aaaaall and leave the woooorld behiiiiind Babyyy promiseee me you'll hold me agaaaain I'm still broken from this 🌪️ THIS HURRICANEEEE !!!!! Good luck to my Eurovision Queens of 2024: Kaleen, Eden and Marina !!! 1 1 12

Serbia has agreed that Kosovo might join the international organizations, so I don't see why Kosovo couldn't join ESC too. The only reason why not would be that Serbian president/government will throw a performative tantrum to appease it's conservative voters, even though they're the ones who agreed to that in the first place Spoiler I'm Serbian 1
