Apart from the way her voice sounds (which can't be really replicated since she's older now), I feel all re-recordings lack something in her delivery and especially in the production departments, sounding stripped down almost. And that's not considering how she's consistently botched the pop songs.

 

All in all, no matter how hard she tries the OG versions will always be the superior ones and that's just the truth.

Sparks Fly is fine to me, no improvement like other TVs but it's not a downgrade like WANEGBT/YBWM/IKYWT either

I still don't believe for a second I Can See You was written for Speak Now, it sounds absolutely amazing but not like something 2009-2010 Taylor would write.

So this Christopher Rowe — is he like an actual producer or a friend of her family with a studio in his garage?

 

WHAT is going on with the mixing on these re recordings? WHY are the vocals so loud on every track? The instrumentation actually isn’t bad, some are even an improvement, but the vocals are so flat and stick out like karaoke songs. I’ll stick to streaming Speak Now (Misogynistic Version ) I fear. I can’t believe someone as meticulous as Taylor is letting these go out sounding so sloppy.

Also, maybe there's a compression issue with Spotify? I've always known that some albums are specially mastered for AM and I think this may be the case again.
