I like the line change in Better Than Revenge, but at the same time I miss the absolute dragging through the mud in that one little line.

Ok I’ve heard the vault tracks a couple times and I’m gonna come out and say it

I don’t get Electric Touch

vocally and production wise she BRINGS it but it’s the weakest lyrical offering she’s given us on the album, almost even weaker than Superman. There’s like next to no narrative to the song, nor are there any solid metaphors or figurative language for the song to stand on. So while it’s a BOP and I love her vocals on it & it makes me want a rock album from her even more….

It might be my least favorite vault track :giraffe:

ok hot take over

Like someone said earlier, the real dragging line in BTR is "But no amount of vintage dresses gives you dignity" :deadbanana4:

Of course Emma is an Aaron song. Aaron Dessner, you will ALWAYS be famous :jonny4:

Jack Antonoff, you'll always be famous.

I actually agree :rip: It’s definitely the weakest of the bunch.

I feel like Aaron and Jack should split an album exactly 50/50. A 10 track album, 5 tracks each, no co-producing with each other.  :dies:  The mess that y’all would make out of that

Oh no babe, what is it?  :gaycat6:

(I get the lyrical drag though, but the production/vocals are just too good for it not to be a top tier track for me)

Maybe you just need time :giraffe: It'll click one day suddenly, believe, trust!

Hopefully! Right now nothing really makes me -love- the song. But one day it might hit. I enjoy all the vault tracks either way, FTV & RTV lost!

I’d rather she find new people to work with lmao. The well is good, but I’m ready for it to be dry.

Sometimes it’s hard for me to just overlook lyrically weak songs and just accept stellar vocals + production, but I’m sure this song will grow on me. For now there’s just nothing hooking me to it :gaycat6: But I still bop :jamming: and I definitely won’t skip so it’s got plenty of chances to creep up my rankings

Oh me too, they can do that for TS20 or something down the line. We’ll all be 40+ year olds reigniting this 15 year old competition about the two of them :dies:
