M!X Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 (edited) Taylor has surpassed Britney, idk why Brit fans are struggling to accept that, Taylor is still going strong while Britney is literally not even an active popstar anymore Edited April 16, 2023 by M!X

They still act as of it's the 1998-2003 period.
Intuition Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Taylor and it's not even close. Anyone saying anything different is delusional or living in 2003.
Ms. Togekiss Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 the misogyny coming from the Britney stans why are swifties taking the bait and entertaining such delusional Britney stans
TrieLz Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Bigger overall career: Taylor Bigger peak: Britney
FSXP Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 Taylor has the bigger career, but Britney is more iconic and more influential.
Enrique523 Posted April 16, 2023 Author Posted April 16, 2023 One thing i also find funny is how Britney stans are saying Taylor has no "impact", which is a EXTREMELY subjective argument to make yet they say it so confidently The way her music and lyrics are so constantly dissected, analyzed and taken seriously by so many people is impact. I mean there's a reason she managed to cultivate and maintain such a massive and loyal fanbase in a way no other female artist has EVER done. You can't accomplish that if you have no impact. Do you think Britney's music would ever by as analyzed and taken seriously as Taylor's is? If we're talking about direct musical impact: she's the biggest inspiration of Olivia Rodrigo, one of the biggest female breakthrough artists of the 2020s. And Olivia definitively won't be the last, Taylor is massively beloved by so many celebrities. I'm not denying that Britney had her own impact too, she did have an impact. But saying that Taylor has no impact is, as i said, extremely subjective and show a really shallow idea of what "impact" is.

She's always been more of a TRL act.

Last time Britney had a #1 album there was 20 years ago Yeah, not the world but an important market to label an artist « global ». Quote The only time Taylor Swift performed in our country, this former country darling had yet to put away her banjo. It was in 2011, in a barely full Parisian Zenith, for the album Speak Now (2010). “There were tarps to hide the empty rows,” https://www.lepoint.fr/pop-culture/musique/pourquoi-taylor-swift-boude-t-elle-la-france-et-vice-versa-22-01-2018-2188713_2946.php Again, she’s big in the USA i’m not gonna deny that. Britney Spears is more famous and her hits are known all around the world.

(who don't even speak for the large part of the fandom but search for fights and are Bad at arguments) A large part of the Britney fandom, hasn't even entered this/these threads The Army has been fighting these types of threads for years now, so it's a bit pointless now especially when Britney is "retired"

Last time Britney had a #1 album there was 20 years ago The way they ALWAYS bring up France as "proof" that she's not global, it's so pathetic If France is the only country you can ever bring up as "proof" then it pretty much confirms the argument has no value whatsoever. Especially since Midnights went #1 in France, completely destroying this idea that she's flopping there.
