I've always told y'all that those Flowers numbers were too suspiscious. Like how can the song be smashing that hard on streaming platforms and still the GP doesn't know about it? And it's not like Miley's fanbase is big enough to pull those numbers alone. Those numbers were coming from bots and this debut proves that PERIODT.

Not a single album track has the instantness of Flowers and people turned it off. A good enough portion checked out River and would’ve at least made her follow-up single a hit, but the quality wasn't there.

 

Really disappointing coming from how well PH delivered. Still love Flowers though

Just saw you on twitter with this lame ass theory as well. Harry's House is outstreaming Midnights standard daily (both 13 tracks) despite being 6 months older. And it debuted with 98.4m.

You replied to people pointing that out "but As It Was does most of the streams" which is fundamentally wrong. As It Was does 4M+/- and Harry's House does 10M+. Midnights has Anti-Hero which does 3M+/- and also does 10M (slightly less). So Harry's House is doing incredibly similar numbers to Midnights despite being 6 months older (10/11 months vs 4/5), and its lead single is doing better and is more stable than Anti-Hero.

 

Including Sza in this was also really weird, because Sza isn't even with Columbia, she's with RCA. And to that you replied "but RCA is under Sony"  which is a ridiculous statement because Miley went from having no support on her career with RCA to finally having decent support with Columbia. And not to mention that SOS outstreams Midnights 3AM (both have a very similar amount of tracks with SOS having 23 and Midnights having 20)

 

Taylor Swift fans of all people coming up with conspiracy theories about labels doing payola has to be peak hipocrisy.

 

Miley did the same numbers with ESV than she did with PH if you take away Flowers, and that's with PH having a longer tracklist. There's nothing sus at all.

Personally I never liked Flowers. Such a bland song. Really no clue why it got so big. But the album should have done much better just off Flowers' success alone

Montero is a massive sneak. Montero had a similar debut to this besides the fact it had 2 hit songs not just 1.

 

Montero is the blueprint for ESV.

Absolutely no one expected her to pull a Harry’s House and Dua is a much bigger streaming (and current) artist   it’s not like it matters like that when Miley is literally almost 20 years into her career.

People bought into the misleading Flowers “hype”. Those of us who rang the alarm on non-existent album momentum were called “OMHs”

I can guarantee you that the ones saying she would do Harry’s House or SOUR numbers were setting the poor sis up  expecting 40-50M sure, but 70-100M?
