Taylor, Bad Bunny, SZA and many others have inflated their SEA units by releasing albums with way too many songs and it's only now that you're complaining.

folklore and evermore 17 songs.

Midnights 20

This is literally the alredy average number of tracks (15-20) of album plus deluxe tracks in the itunes era. Warren album literally has the double of it :ninja:

Red versions is 30 tracks but 22 of them are old material. Saying taylor has released stuff comparable to this, so something with 36 new tracks (!!) is really unfair.

The fumes already for someone just living and working :jonny: Not even R Kelly or actual murderers get this site so mad.

Honestly though, his music has been quite boring (even for country standards) to me so I don't get the appeal, but if people like it then good for him :michael:

as long as it kicks dangerous out the top 10 then go ahead

the UK chart does this thing where only the Top 12 most streamed songs count and the Top 2 are weighted down so just 1 hit can’t carry an album for ages.

It has benefits and drawbacks because the chart is now clogged with greatest hits albums but it does make everything more fair.

yeah uk chart is terrible now. This week 46 albums in the top 100 with most than 100 weeks on chart, for new releases is more difficult to get a long live. And it's getting worts, probably before the end of this year like 55-60 albums with more than 100 weeks.

It's turning from "hottest album of this week of 2023" to "top 100 catalog chart" :ninja:

1m debut? I'm not really seeing this.

His first made the first weekd 200K from streaming (already 30 tracks, it's not like he's going suddenly from a 16 tracks album to 36). For this i would say 500-550k if he really makes big big , or more 450-500K

First album 74K pure sales. Now sales are dropping fast so even a double it would be surprising. So i'm seeing it with 700-750K total in the best scenario.

You're comparing him to Drake but drake made 1.04M back in 2016 but with 851K pure sales (and the album only on apple music streaming side). He probably made that insane physical total for some bundle I don't remember, anyway you can't make this kind of things now so...

We need all Swifties who bought Midnights to save the charts and buy Miley's new album first week (at least one copy :eli:)

No shade, but I feel like Taylor's demo overlaps way more with Morgan's than Miley's, besides the gays but they have no buying power

No shade to my fave, but Position's announcement got 1 million+ likes. Twitter likes don't reflect sales.

Nnn I just checked Instagram and he has almost 1.5 million likes there

it’s over

EDIT: I know likes don’t reflect sales but I would have been very shocked if he didn’t have some kind of social following somewhere, obviously Twitter just isn’t his audience :skull:

Yeah this is why Taylor is a global star as miley while Morgan is even unknown in some of the 50 states. Girl 2006 was 20 years ago. Taylor audience is pop fans and songwriter fans (the new generation of her fans are the ones finding appeal to lana, lorde, phoebe brigers, gracie abrams and so on...there is reason she makes duets with them and they are the opener of her tour even in the Us, while miranda lambert isn't :deadbanana2:).

Do you really think Midnights is going to make 4B streams in 4 months on spotify thanks to southern american citizens listening to country music :deadbanana2:. Pleeeease give us a rest.

Taylor’s biggest audience, in the US at least, is conservative white people. I live in Texas and the idea that that audience abandoned her at some point is simply not true. She’s still inoffensive enough for them to embrace.

Im not even being shady, it’s just facts.

The only fact is Taylor Swift is listened in every angle of America, with her strongest sales and streaming in New York. So strong in the south as anywhere. The only fact is Taylor swift is a global superstar with a new album smashing in the uk, south america, australia and Asia, so everywhere including the South of the Us as London and Manila.

The only fact is the algorithm of spotify tell you Taylor Swift fans listen to demi lovato, katy perry, harry styles, demi lovato, halsey, camilla cabello, the 1975 and.... Ariana Grande (LOOOOOOL).

The fact you think global super star taylor swift has a core audience same as Morgan wallen and not Ariana Grande it's not even being shady, it's just being totally disconnected from the reality outside the door next to you at this point :deadbanana2:

hes gonna smash so hard and people here are underestimating him sadly :deadvision: white racists and conservatives WORSHIP this guy. He's almost like a Trump for them, He makes them delusional, partly as some have said here because in their heads listening to him is a huge FU to "libtards" and leftists who tried to cancel him. Just look at this and extrapolate it to the entirety of white America :biblionny:
