Michael196 Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 I hope this pulls a 30 (no hate or shade towards Adele) but my point is that I hope it fizzles quickly after a huge debut and destroys the longevity of his previous albums…

And it's only now that they are back on there more consistently thanks to Tiktok boosts. 30 had nothing to do with it. It was more because the pure sales era ended and the streaming era started and Adele just doesn't get enough streams outside of her singles. And that's always been the case in all her albums if you look up her Spotify numbers. It's different for Morgan Wallen because he must be getting tremendous streams even down the deep cuts. So the only thing that could hurt his longevity is that his fans won't have time to listen to both Dangerous and the new album every day.

'One Thing at a Time' is aiming for the fifth-biggest streaming week ever in the US - 450M streams. his album already received over 107M streams on US Spotify in 3 days, this is more than Drake & 21 Savage's collaborative album "Her Loss" (105M in 3 days). it is also more stable on US Spotify than most albums, between Friday and Sunday the drop in streams is less than 40% while most albums drop by more than 50%.

Pendulum Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 I don't care about him or his music and I probably won't ever listen to it but I skimmed through the Pitchform review. They're dragging him for having a lot of songwriters on the albums, which to be fair is absolutely fine considering the length and number of tracks. But why is it a problem when he decides to bring in a big quantity of writers? I can think of another darling who always has a 20-30+ songwriting personnel on her albums but Pitchfork would never call that out?

Both of his albums will never leave the top 10 at this point and the new album is most likely going to be a 20 week #1 It would have been a 20 week #1 if Toby Keith didn't come and stop him .
