Movimento Perpétuo Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Brazilians do it better "Madonna is now the 79th most listened artist on Spotify. Two months ago she was the 259th. The brazilians gays won't stop 'till push her into the top 10" 2

But if we compare gross per date RIT, Drowned World and Girlie Show are above it too. We can't really adjust the past tour numbers to inflation and compare them to each other, it doesn't really work like that That's why when Billboard makes a total of tour numbers for each artists they don't adjust it for inflation, they keep the original amount For exemple, the Las Vegas shows for the DWT in 2001 has an average of 219$US per tickets, which means today it would value 386$US, there is no way it was worth that much back then

TCT is not bigger tour than The Girlie Show, Drowned World, Reinvention or Confessions. Edited May 8 by NoAngelus 1

In this case, why the prices for US and Canada shows are the same since at least 20 years, ranging from 60$ to 350$ for regular seated tickets (excluding any package) ? Saying that Rebel Heart Tour gross is the same as Celebration is the best exemple that inflation doesn't work like that Edited May 8 by MP3
Chris Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Wow a new user that has been here since March comes in here and is all of a sudden an expert. Hmmmm. 4
.Odyssey. Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Just had a realization watching the Rio concert once again... ....do you think Bob is meant to be symbolic of Madonna's gay fanbase? Like obviously, yes, he's a drag queen and gay himself, but the role itself. Is Bob meant to be a statement that it's the gays that always hyped her up and kept her in the public conscious? Is there a reason she loses him after Vogue and the sirens start? What about when he shows up during Don't Tell Me and she tells him to get away from her kids? It feels like there's supposed to be a deeper statement with his role in the show, but it's a little unclear to me what it is.

The thing is nobody cares about their opinions Celebration Tour is one of the biggest tours of the year and doing it into 40 years of career is nothing but amazing.
Jump Posted May 9 Posted May 9 I never watched the MJ interlude in full until the Rio show because I always thought it sounded icky. Now that I have seen it in full and in context, I surprisingly like it. my interpretation is that after the grim reaper/death takes her at the end of Rain, she has a dance off with MJ in the afterlife. She says goodbye and comes back to life to troll us all with BIM. Her mind 1

I hope it gets a proper re-release And also Up Down Suite is from the Erotica era. So glad that my fave album was the centrepiece of this tour! 3

Alongoria13 Posted May 9 Posted May 9 The way Erotica is my fave song of the tour now, so beautifully choreographed, when all the dancers turn to the right to see BATdonna and Madonna walks slowly towards her 2

I didn't realize how much she moved until watching the Rio broadcast. I just wish she used newly recorded vocals for the spoken parts 1

It feels like there's supposed to be a deeper statement with his role in the show, but it's a little unclear to me what it is. I think the ambiguity of his role is intentional. I think his inclusion isn't just a representation, but also her sign of gratitude to the LGBTQ-community. It shows how much her story and that of the community are intertwined, I think that's very clear in the first half of the show with all the references to gay, Black and queer culture/history. For me the Don't Tell Me performance is about public pressure, scrutiny and hate. I don't think it's her way of saying the gays betrayed her, but that there were and are people out there who hate on her just for being active in the industry for so long as a woman. In the end, most obsessed haters are just fans in denial (like Bob dancing to the song in the end). The whole act of the show has a lot of songs about overcoming difficulties and having dark moments. In the end of Don't Tell Me, she and Bob shake hands and end their animosity, which could represent her need for forgiveness in order to be able to move on to a better place in life (La Isla Bonita). But that's all up for interpretation until she says otherwise. Edited May 9 by The Next Day 3

MP3 Posted May 13 Posted May 13 I'm sure we'll get another arena tour in a couple of years, if she had that much of energy after an hospitalization, imagine with 2-3 years complete recovery, Madonna's touring journey is not over I'm sure of that 4

Im sure she's going to tour and i have a feeling we'll see her in stadiums before she retires. 1 1
