Polgg48 Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 (edited) not posting that bald video but skipping interpreted title track and sorbet is a huge crime like that is the pinnacle of album. also embarrassing missed the whole point of ambient second half that is vocal performance ( fainted/ambiguous instrumental to enhance her vocal) confirm that a lot of people would never understand what good r&b album is/should be. throughout the week, as ive read those reviews, everyone/critic seems to not 'get' the album because they dont listen to r&b albums in general or at least done homework on 'aquaphoria', also worth mention that most positive reaction came from accessible first half/enough for love while they arent sole reason why album is good. another thread done for my posts limited, homegirl already success and secure acclaim beside obvious bias scores from PopMatters and The Line of The Best Fit (nope uglies, i know you tried). back to bop missed call/closure and ready for enough for love video Edited February 16, 2023 by Polgg48 double checks
KillaCham. Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 Why is this woman always begging in her music?

OK, this is kinda funny tho bc the whole album is fixated on begging to be loved by someone. It's literally like every song. I love her, though and it's VERY relatable. Plus look at my fave, so... ya know.
Alex Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 why doesn’t this have a 90+ rating from critic is beyond me.
BlackoutZone Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 Bald man needs some *****. Him saying her vocals don’t pop off on the tracks was my last straw. 51 minutes ago, dangerousalex said: why doesn’t this have a 90+ rating from critic is beyond me. It has 100 from The Telegraph

Relampago. Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 I decided to give this album a try, loving it so far. Just finished On the Run, an experience Looking forward to the rest!
Relampago. Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 Also, Fantano just has really weird takes sometimes in the sense that it’s clear he tries to go against the grain when there’s an acclaimed album that’s also popular with the base that listens to it. It happened with Motomami, Magdalene, Fetch the Bolt Cutters… etc. Idk what he gave this album but it’s likely the same situation.
magicfever Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 My vinyl arrived today and it is stunning. Front and back cover look absolutely beautiful and that imprinted logo on the front feels so good. The clear vinyls fit the water-theme perfectly. 10/10 album, 10/10 vinyl.

I was over him after that FTBC ''review'', but I didn't know he came for GODalene too now that's just nasty

ATRL Moderator Verge of Obscene Posted February 17, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted February 17, 2023 this album 15 tracks and every one hits. give her all the awards

baddiedomi Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 I definitely prefer Take Me Apart...it's one of my favourite albums of all time. I hope Raven will grow on me, i want to love it. ;( Production is amazing. Really sick beats, but some songs are boring when it comes to melodies. And i mostly listen to rnb My favourites: On the run Fooley, Happy Endings, Let it Go
Virgos Groove Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 (edited) This is a masterpiece. My favs are Happy Ending, Contact, Raven and Bruises, but it's definitely a "greater than the sum of its parts" type of record. Edited February 18, 2023 by Virgos Groove
