Okay not terrible, but it deserves at least an 85 on metacritic

She’s 3/3 with the songs, album cover is a 10/10.

She’s getting OUT of her contract with an immaculate kiss-off album huh?

Forgot to mention two things in my review:

1) ETA & FL sound way better in the context of the album than as standalone tracks.

2) The short length does not affect the album at all, it does not feel shorter than her previous albums.

Slant's scores:

Animal: 1.5/5

Cannibal: 3.5/5

Warrior: 3/5

Rainbow: 3.5/5

High Road: 3.5/5

SPIN's scores:

Cannibal: 5/10

Warrior: 7/10

They didn't give Rainbow a score but it looks like a very positive review.

Is it true the album is gapless?

What exactly do you mean by that?

From what I'm seeing Pitchfork and The Arts Desk (idk if they count for MC) seem to be the harshest critics.

Popmatters gave HR a 30, but Rainbow an 80

CoS gave HR a 50, but Rainbow a 75

The Guardian gave HR a 60 and Warrior a 40, but Rainbow an 80

NME gave HR a 60, but Rainbow an 80

Wait, not Pitchfork giving Animal a 7.3 :dies:

EDIT: Ok it was a 2021 review. I was shocked to imagine Pitchfork being this positive to her in 2010 :skull:

Each song flows to the next with no silence? I thought I heard it was in this thread but maybe I misread

Oh, okay. I haven't explicitly paid attention to that, but this sounds about right based on my experience. There aren't really any long periods of silence in the intros and outros as far as I recall.

The album sounds like it’s a slower than in the past. Does the album feel like it drags at all or?

Not at all. The slowness of some songs is compensated by the shorter length overall, interludes and quick transitions between songs.
