% Share of Global Top 10 Streams since release:

Fri - 13%

Sat - 16%
Sun - 20%

Mon - 25%

Tue - 26%

This highlights the growth rate she’s had over the past 5 days. She’s extending her lead over the rest of the top 10 each day due to the exponential growth rate, the other songs in the Top 10 just can’t compete.

She does, however, have much stiffer competition to overcome than other previous big releases (Shakira is also pulling in insanely big numbers) and this is diluting her overall share. Overall streams across the Top 10 are up significantly, in some cases there are around 20M~ more streams across the Top 10 atm compared to the some of those big releases on the dates below:

Fri 1st Apr 2022 - Harry Styles - As It Was - 35%

Fri 15th Jan 2021 - Olivia Rodrigo - Drivers License - 31%

Fri 15th Oct 2021 - Adele - Easy on Me - 32%

I don’t understand why this song is exploding. Slow releases? And now it’s challenging to become the fastest song ever to 100M streams? Why is she suddenly so popular all of a sudden? Something seems fishy

Because she went viral on New years eve, the song is added to every Playlist possible, it is catchy and is being promoted everywhere.

Well let's compare it with Anti-hero's debut:

These were Anti-hero's debut US on-demand streams (without youtube):

50.5 million streams and 31.5 million were from US Spotify which it's more than the half coming from US spotify.

https://charts.spotify.com/charts/view/regional-us-weekly/2022-10-27

So the ratio of streams in other platforms is on par with the other girls,

50/50. For Taylor it was 61/39.

Fishy my ass. How many pure copies in iTunes did Anti-Hero sell.

13.500 the first week

But she had the whole album out that week.

How many US stream does Flowers have overall in Spotify? Sorry for bothering you but I only saw 2 days could not find them all.

I wonder how many pure sales will the first week album pull? :jonnycat:

it's so ******* funny to see those saying "omg this is so fishy, omg what it's happening"

This is literally the first miley release on the streaming era that has proper playlisting. It's samashing all around ALL plataforms, not only spotify... But sure hun... Keep the "fishy" and "suspicious" narrative all you like

the song literally sold 40k on itunes alone and people keep saying all this bull lmao

The merciless smashing :deadbanana2:

The fuming and conspiracy theories from out of touch girls in here :deadbanana2:

Iconic way to start an era :jonny5:

Miley hasn't had a good era in years. People being apprehensive makes sense. Congrats to her though. I don't think this song is "special" in any sense. Its certainly not her best or catchiest, but i think the rarity of these types of songs contribute to its success.  Also people kinda miss miley, and the promotion was very good.

I feel like the confusion is because of a generational divide…if you didn’t grow up with Miss Montana you just don’t get it I fear!

Watch her album sell 1M.

Miley is winning. So glad she proves ATRL wrong again.

This is once again a proof that ATRL is so out of touch with what GP want.

I expected it to smash but not this hard :rip: Columbia just might be the best label right now

Miley is the new music industry :clap3:

I'm not surprised at all. She had lots of hype and goodwill from the GP after the Plastic Hearts era, the only thing that was missing was a competent label and now she's in one. She deserves all the success :clap3:

This smashing out of nowhere, just like Olivia. Is January the new iT month for pop girls? :priceless:

All of this, plus she enjoys a deep well of public fondness from Hannah Montana nostalgia and her old classics. She just hadn't been releasing the right material to click with the gp. Of course, clearly we're all still shocked by how explosively this song is taking off.

Wow this song is smashing

Miley will destroy the weekly record by a big margin. Flowers could do 90m this week on Spotify Chart.

Umm you think :skull: I love some of the songs on it but it was a mess. She was kind of at her craziest during the era, released a SoundCloud only album slightly before SoundCloud was mainstream, and the lead single about smoking weed was way too soon before legalizing weed became a semi movement. She alienated a lot of fans. (I blame the flaming lips sidenote xd also for Kesha). If she had released Nightmare instead at the 2015 VMAs, she would have had a multi week #1 smash to lead into another massive era. I respect she did her own thing since Bangerz was a two year, massive era. But Dead Petz definitely killed her momentum. I'm glad she's back. :clap3:

Yes I agree.

Bangerz already had some people shocked and alienated some of them with raunchy performances, drug references and a lot of twerking, but the music kept the majority of them hooked and generally they were still interested. When DP came along, she was even raunchier (that one performance with the strap-on comes to mind :rip:) , she was on some weird psychedelic spiritual BS that turned even more people off, and she didn’t have generally appealing music in that album to make up for it.

Dead Petz could have still stayed a SoundCloud side project or maybe a smaller EP but she should’ve done an actual release in 2015 with another album to continue the momentum.
