Sis it’s all over TikTok and Twitter :deadbanana:

I literally just saw people in this thread talking about how it's NOT a TikTok hit though :skull:

So what's the truth? Because I'm seeing it nowhere outside of TikTok. Like, even on Facebook I've seen zero mention of this song, and I have like 3,000 gays on there lol.

This is just so strange... I've heard no one, literally not a single soul, talking about this, not on any of my social media, not in the real world, nothing. Who the hell is streaming this song and where are these people coming from?

I'm not trying to bash the song or anything. It's a fine song. I just don't understand how this is happening. It feels so buzzless, at least in my world.

Lol do you live under a rock? My cousin who hates miley is even obsessed with this song. Its everywhere :rip:

People acting like this success is shocking…she’s Miley Cyrus, the song is amazing and it’s viral as Hell. Y’all are so out of touch smh

Of course it is. So you would of bet on Miley potentially having the biggest song of 2023 a few weeks ago, competing with Taylor and Adele for biggest spotify opening week numbers of all time?  :deadvision:

Miley is a Star but her 2 mega smashes before (wrecking ball/party in the USA) are kind of isolate from her general success. And wrecking balls (670m) streams aren't really up there with the biggest songs of its year either. It's been 10 years since she's had a big smash lol

I mean she's remained successful but it's certainly fair to be surprised by how well this is doing. Super curious about the album potential now

So Spotify is half of her US streams? Isn't that disproportionately high since Apple is apparently the bigger platform and there are others platforms beyond the 2? The song is definitely an organic smash, so I can't speak for people who suspected its success is down to an algorithm. But it'll be interesting to see if we do see any trends of bigger peaks on Spotify

Without YOUTUBE music Spotify represent  roughly 40% of US music consuming.

The most used online music services in the United States in 2022 were Spotify, Youtube music, and Pandora, with 35 percent of survey respondents having recently listened to Spotify, 18 percent to Youtube music, and 15 percent to Pandora.May 3, 2022

100-18=82. So 35/88=42%.

Ok it's a survey not actual stats so not really sure how accurate this is.

Miley erasing Anti-Hero's streaming records, and SZA bagging more weeks at #1 on the BB200 than Midnights. The people crave talent :clap3:

the fact that her snatching taylor and adele are 100% on lock and mariah's all time record not being safe either is just :deadbanana2:

It'll pass Taylor 100% but not so sure about Adele. The increase is slowing down. But it's not out of the question.

This is just INSANE:gaycat6:

Yeah, I don’t necessarily doubt that the numbers are real, but… I’m clearly missing something here. I guess I’m just surprised at this level of success, like its growth this week is literally unprecedented. Is Tik Tok really driving that much success now? Is it just clicking with people because of the easy-going sound and the Bruno callbacks? But it doesn’t really matter - more power to her, I guess. It’s nice to see women getting huge hits lately.

You’re right, you are missing something. Move along and focus on Taylor.

This song is already looking to be the biggest song of her career.

What an unexpected smash.

Don't LOVE the song, it's nice but i hope the album is more varied. Anyway, I'm excited for her career re-peak

It's shocking how out of touch some people are. Miley is one of the biggest pop stars of all time with a string of huge hits and huge name recognition. Why are you acting like she's Kim Petras or something?

Well let's compare it with Anti-hero's debut:

These were Anti-hero's debut US on-demand streams (without youtube):

50.5 million streams and 31.5 million were from US Spotify which it's more than the half coming from US spotify.

Miley is so underrated and so talented.

I have been a huge fan/stan since Hannah Montana days. I think people are underestimating her. If she had been releasing full pop with proper rollouts she would have always smashed.

I guess Dead Petz was a bad move. Had she released a YN with more promo and PH with a friendlier image she could have found even more success? She Is Coming deserved more also.

I am just glad she has been releasing quality music since 2019 back to back and never gave up. You have people like Normani teasing an album for 6 years thinking she is hype. Miley is just talent and she has the drive. You can tell she is all in.

Ah, if Apple Music is bigger, it's probably smaller for pop music

I don’t understand why this song is exploding. Slow releases? And now it’s challenging to become the fastest song ever to 100M streams? Why is she suddenly so popular all of a sudden? Something seems fishy

Umm you think :skull: I love some of the songs on it but it was a mess. She was kind of at her craziest during the era, released a SoundCloud only album slightly before SoundCloud was mainstream, and the lead single about smoking weed was way too soon before legalizing weed became a semi movement. She alienated a lot of fans. (I blame the flaming lips sidenote xd also for Kesha). If she had released Nightmare instead at the 2015 VMAs, she would have had a multi week #1 smash to lead into another massive era. I respect she did her own thing since Bangerz was a two year, massive era. But Dead Petz definitely killed her momentum. I'm glad she's back. :clap3:
